I'm putting a kit together for my young teenage boy and he was excited about it when he opened the box. I wasn't sure about ordering this gladius, but after spending time comparing cost and product reviews, I decided to try it. The handle is tight and doesn't flop around in the sheath. Not sharp but as weapons designed for stabbing, it works perfectly (Sorry box).
Great for dress-up reenactment. Not anything special, but better than the cheap ones.

A lot nicer than others I saw, but still cheap quality wise. Sheath is not cheap plastic, which is a plus, but the handle is meant for a really big hand and the "leather" on the sheath is (of course) not real. But there's not many other options in this price range. You get what you pay for.

This sword is absolutely beautiful.
Most importantly, it is a great price and makes a wonderful gift. I have used this as a gift to recognize my employees and associated. (Just put an engraved plate on the sheath and you have something truly amazing to hang on the wall.)
It has a surprisingly good point, and a decent edge (and 15 minutes with a file and whetstone would bring it up to razor sharp). If you tried to chop down a tree, the tree would probably eventually win, but chopping at anything else and my money is on the sword.

I sharpened it with a sharping stone with my uncle, next to a fire as we talked about life. Cut myself a few times but that's the dangers of a blade.
It starts off as a thick piece of metal and the metal itself is fragile so don't go trying to cut trees or metal. It can cut flesh easily if you did your job well just like any piece of metal. It has a full tang but most of the handle is plastic along with the scabbard. With pleather wrapping around it. And dyed "metal" bits all over.
The sword has fake lines all over it that seem to be just a sticker. Otherwise it's a Great Wall display or in my case a great looking gardening tool that I used to kill a few rats and annoying weeds

Flat edge all depends on what your looking for in a sword. This one is amazing art work. I'm happy with it so is my girlfriend. I'm a collector of many different types of swords and knifes and weapons. And this is a nice peace to add too anyones collection.
