This is okay for a starter, but other things can be added. I use it to make shrimp lobster sauce and it works perfectly you just have to put less water in and it gets thick enough then I add peas and carrots and my beautiful shrimp and some green onion and it is delicious oh forgot the egg scrambled an egg throw it in when the soup is boiling in drips and drabs I'm laughing
