Fun, but very resonant

I favor a faster playing style, and this drum is so resonant (very long sustain) that the notes tended to get muddled together... which is solved by jamming an old t-shirt or two into it via the plastic-capped hole in the bottom. Can be played softly with bare hands, much more loudly with the included hard rubber mallets or more moderately with the finger things. I've ordered a set of felt mallets which are taking a couple months to get here (yeesh).

I am a collector of interesting instruments, and I had wanted a tongue drum for a while now. Since I want to be able to play the maximum amount of songs, I decided to go ahead and get the largest size. I put a quarter in the pictures for a size comparison.
The sound is great, and all the tongues are sufficiently in key.
It comes with everything one would need when starting, including extra number stickers in both silver (the color it originally comes with) and in more high definition black and white.
The music book is also actually helpful (something that is quite rare with some instruments like this) as it comes with over 40 songs at different proficiency levels.
Some reviews that I read said that the finger picks didn't sound very good, but I like the sound, along with how quite they are compared to the mallets. They just seem to make more reverb.
Overall, I highly recommend this instrument, it's well worth the price to have the full two octaves of notes.

This is very nice looking and has a nice haunting tone. The numbers could be glued better but that is minor.
