While it's still a bit shorter than I would've liked the tool is definitely quality made and the auger is able to pull up and move the dirt out of the way sufficiently. It does not jam with dirt and has a smooth coating that allows it to shed dirt. You can even improve that by adding some lubrication spray so dirt slides right off

We used it to start the holes to put up a chainlink fence. Naturally it would have been better to be 4" by 36" but this sure helped ease the work load. Also used it bore a hole under the sidewalk and push a 2" PVC pipe under it to run an electric wire thru. I know that was not its intended purpose, but it worked. We use it in a 20v Dewalt cordless drill.

Our magnolia was looking like a victim of some attack - leaves were thin, branches were bare. I had an arborist out but his suggestions didn't help and it cost me $150.00. I had poured manure and epson salts and blood meal and so many things under this tree and all it did was green up the lawn! So my husband and I decided to figure it out on our own. We got this auger and some tree food and made 18 holes around the drip line and filled them with tree food. And now the tree is recovering and getting leaves. This auger thing really saved a big magnolia tree! We are really glad we found this!
