I purchased this roller in hopes of helping with my chronic back pain. I'm happy to say with regular use, I am definitely noticing a difference. I'm a beginner to foam rolling -- I had read that firmness varies and that softer is easier to begin with but I didn't want soft, I wanted a step up and I find the firmness of this to be enjoyable and effective.

It's too hard for me. I chose it because I thought my prior foam roller was too soft and thought a little harder would be better. It's good but I can't just keep rolling on it more than a couple times.
