Nickel mounted, it plays as well as any bow for ten times its price. I would strongly recommend it.
If you play a large viola, like a Tertis model, this bow is up to the job.

Excellent bow for the price, you won't regret it! I ordered a bow of this type just without their logo on it. It feels and sounds nice. Very light and comfortable. Don't expect it to produce a sound such as a professional bow would. Professional bows start from around 2000$, but just for 120 bucks you can get this great bow that would sound somewhere about half midpoint of a 2 grands bow. It can be awesome for orchestra playing and gigs.
