Works well with a few annoyances

We bought this for our 45lb lab/malinois. First off, she LOVES it and caught on super quick. It was fairly easy to install but took some adjusting to figure out what works best. We will keep and use it. She never knocked me off my bike, but did tug off to the side a few times -- the product worked as designed to keep us both safe.
The annoyances:
1. When I ride, she likes to be closer to my front wheel. Even when we extend the leash to it's limit, the rod hits the back on my thigh. Not a huge deal and still rideable but an annoyance.
2. The rubber is super hard to get tight. When my dog pulls towards the front, it slips a bit and thus hits the back of my thigh more. We did have to stop and tighten the screws a few times and it seemed to be OK. Definitely tighten them more than you think!
3. When my dog switches sides of my bike, the leash gets caught in my fender sometimes. Understandable but worth noting for those who have fenders or racks on the back.
Overall, a good product that I would recommend.

If you have a pooch who is energetic, likes to run and is not arthritic, this item is worth a try. It is easy to install and gives you the rider, total control. Even when distractions such as a squirrel, cat or other dogs are in your path, a simple "straight ahead" command works. Turning corners is easy as well. Be sure to keep treats in your pocket and constant praise. My dog is so much more relaxed, mellow and chill after a good run.

Took a star off because my bike had a smaller section below the seat to attach it. The included rubber wasn't thick enough so added electrical tape to make the pole larger so it would fit snug on there. They really need to include more rubber so you can cut it to size. Overall it works great! My dog is great on a leash so she does well beside the bike. Though I really hoped it would prevent her from running into my bike but the leash is long enough she has room to do so if something spooked her. So that makes me a bit nervous but she has enough line to comfortably run. Any shorter and it just wouldn't be flexible enough. So that's the only negative. But so far I love not having to hold the leash beside me and be able to concentrate and hold the handlebars easier. It's a great purchase and I'll definitely use it a lot.

This product has allowed me to train my 5mo. old husky to run right next to my bicycle and he looks forward to a run every time he sees me get the bike now. I was on a sidewalk with the dog and I made an error in judgment riding too closely to a street sign pole breaking the 550 cord on the device. I contacted the seller and they sent me a new one!

This is a must have gadget if you ride your bike while you exercise your big strong dog. I have a Belgian Malinois who requires a lot of exercise every day. I have a knee injury so I can't run with her anymore. But I can ride on a bike, and she runs beside me. This is much safer than holding her leash like I was doing before I discovered this. No more tip overs. She just said she wants to chase a squirrel or a duck. Lol
