I would like to share my experience with an internet radio that I recently purchased and have been thoroughly impressed with. The radio is the Ocean Digital and I have to say, it is an incredible value for the price. First and foremost, the sound quality is fantastic when plugged into an external amplifier system. The radio has a built-in amplifier that provides clear and crisp sound, with acceptable bass and treble. I was surprised at how well it performs, even when playing music at high volumes. One of the features that really sets this radio apart from others in its price range is its internet connectivity. With built-in WIFI, the radio can stream thousands of radio stations from all over the world, as well as podcasts and other audio content. I love being able to discover new music and talk shows from different countries and cultures. The radio also has a convenient color screen that displays the station and track information, as well as a clock and alarm function. The buttons and menus are intuitive and easy to navigate, making it simple to switch between different stations or adjust the volume. Overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase of the Ocean Digital internet radio. It offers an impressive array of features and exceptional sound quality at a very reasonable price. Whether you're a music lover or simply looking for a versatile and reliable radio, I highly recommend this product.

I bought this radio for an unusual reason.

In good weather, I ride a bicycle for 6 or 12 miles, 3 or 4 times per week. But in winter, I try to ride a stationary bicycle (Schwinn Air-Dyne) the same number of days. I say "try to."

Riding a stationary bicycle is dreadfully boring. The physical exertion is not the problem: it is the boredom.

So I started listening to radio programs. That is even worse, because the commercials are so tedious. Once you hear a given commercial twice, hearing it again actually has a negative effect which irritates your nervous system

(COMMENT. When you listen to a radio while driving a car, you do not notice how annoying the commercials actually are, because you are also busy watching for the lunatics, for deer jumping onto the road, etc. But on a stationary bicycle, you have nothing to watch, so the commercials become intolerable.)

MY SOLUTION.

I use a TASCAM DR-05X hand-held recorder to record talk-radio programs from this internet radio. This TASCAM recorder has the unusual feature that you can jump forward and back to avoid advertisements.

In my specific case, I select jumping forward for 60 seconds, and jumping back for 30 seconds. In operation (while riding my Schwinn Aid-Dyne), when I hear an advertisement coming on, I jump forward 60 seconds. If I land on another advertisement, I jump again. And so on. If I land on "content," I jump back.

All of this has been working great.

This Internet radio is marvelous.

Did I say that I had an unusual reason ?

When my wife got her CPAP unit, my bedside radio listening experience declined significantly in quality. The AM band was drenched with "woosh...woose....woose" so listening to my favorite distant stations was now out of the question. In addition, the ability to even hear those those stations comfortably often depended on the ionosphere cooperating. Those days are now over. I'm happy to report that my favorite stations are included in the Skytune list so problem solved.
My purpose with this contraption was bedside listening with wired earbuds. While the speakers are small and the reproduction somewhat shallow, they get the job done. If you expected JBL-like reproduction, you will be disappointed. Set your expectations properly and you will find this unit more than adequate. If you want a more satisfying sound for your favorite music stations, pop your earbud connector in the conveniently located front panel jack and have a listen. Be sure to experiment with the "equalizer." It's a gamechanger. Great sound from my favorite jazz station.
Setup was almost ridiculously easy. Plug in the unit, select your language and at the prompt, push the WPS button on your router. The included instructions are completely adequate for anyone with the tiniest bit of computer knowledge.
Within a half hour I had my favorite stations found and in memory. WBZ, KNBR, KCBS, KOMO, WCBS and oldtime radio. I'll be listening to my favorite baseball team this summer interference free, for the first time in like 20 years.
Will it last? I don't know. It will be getting plenty of use, so if it dies, I'll be sure to report back.
As of this moment, I'm tickled with my new purchase.

This is a good radio. I'm not rating it a 5 because the product description says that it has a LAN input. It does not. But the WiFi connection is strong, so this not a big deal.
The radio has very weak speakers. By itself it would be fine to listen to talk radio, but it is not that great for listening to music. Compared to a standard table top radio the sound is average, but compared to a better boombox or an average home stereo, it sounds anemic: No bass. If you have a decent home stereo, you can correct this deficiency with a cord with an 1/8" headphone plug on one end and a couple of RCA jacks on the other. Added to the amp and speakers I have, the sound is great.
I never listen to commercial FM because the ads are very annoying, but internet radio is almost ad-free. That's cool.
The way I'm using it, it's not a radio, but a receiver component, for internet radio. I know there are much more expensive internet radio receivers for stereo systems, but I can't imagine needing anything more than I have with this radio. It's just not 17" wide and black- so some might not care for the aesthetic - but I don't care.
Set-up was pretty easy. The owner's manual was a little confusing for me, because I'm 60 and a technophobe, but I was able to add a couple of my favorite stations without too much trouble.

The device itself is very good, but the price could be a little lower.
