Nice shower head and noticeably better quality water.

EDIT: 6 months later, not sure if it's super effective. There are hard water spots all over the product, telling me the water coming out isn't being filtered very effectively. It does produce a nice pressure though. I like it enough to replace the filter and see if the hard water spots go away.

Not gonna lie, I thought this was a fake Berkey product. Plain brown box, no Berkey logo anywhere, just a set of installation instructions and the filter. But it is real, here's why:

Berkey does not sell directly on Amazon. Their products are only sold by authorized retailers- you can find that list on their official manufacturing website berkeywater.com. I scrolled through the whole list to find who sells on Amazon, and it seems like it's only The Brkly Guy (the seller of this listing). If you click on The Brkly Guy here on Amazon, it says the Business Profile is "LPC Survival". LPC Survival is one of the authorized retailers on Berkey's website, so everything checks out that this is a real Berkey filter. Also, if you unscrew the silver filter housing, the filter has the Berkey logo on it.

The product is not ANSI/NSF certified because, according to a rep from one of the authorized retailers (berkeyfilters.com), it has an even higher standard. To sum up what the rep said:
"We are not NSF certified. NSF certifications are not required but rather optional. In our opinion, NSF certifications are limited in their application with respect to our gravity-fed purification elements. ["¦] The tests we have conducted are much more rigorous than those required by NSF for the certifications required. Our purifiers have been rigorously tested by third-party independent accredited labs far surpassing the above standards 42 and 53. For example, our systems have been tested for the removal of hundreds of contaminants including heavy metals, pesticides, herbicides, pharmaceuticals, pathogenic bacteria, and viruses. These test results are published and available to all our consumers on our website as well as published in our printed literature. In addition, there has also been other highly publicized and notable testing of our purifiers against other so-called similar water filtration systems which clearly back up our third-party testing."

I have yet to try the filter but I hope this helps someone!

Finally a shower filter that works as advertised! I have wasted more money on shower filters from big box stores that leak, virtually explode or never last even 6 weeks, let alone 6 months as stated on packaging.

I've been using the Berkey drinking filters for years. As my hair grew longer I encountered more tangles after shampooing. Also noticed my skin itching. Thought I would give a shower filter a try. After all your skin is your bigegst organ and showering subjects it to lots of municple water chemicals. I was amazed at how much better my skin felt and my hair was so much easier to brush through and softer. These filters are sometimes hard to find in stock so when they are I stock up. When it no longer filters I absolutely can tell and my skin itches and hair tangles. Berkey also makes a different version that fits into a canister that I have had to use but this is the preferred one as it is larger and last longer and not as cumbersome. If you bother to buy filters, just like drinking water, don't go cheap. Choose one that actually filters.

Glad I did a little homework and research on shower head filters, this one checks all the boxes.
A. Great water pressure
B. Water smells really clean.
C. Easy to install.
D. Looks great in the shower, a bit of a classy look.
E. And most importantly the wife absolutely loves it.

The way this filter mounts, it provides more head room and clearance than most of the other filters I looked at. The cartridge is a breeze to replace, and once all connected absolutely no leaks at any of the connection joints.
