I love the product so far, very convenient to be able to fold it up and carry on a trip or when camping. Haven't used it yet so I will do a follow up review down the road to see if it is actually a quality product and holds up to normal use. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the bag that it came in was not sewn properly and will come apart easily with any kind of use. I have ordered a replacement Other than that it seems to be a good product time will tell.

I was very excited to find this product as one of my favorite backcountry areas is now heavily encouraging visitors to "pack it out." I suspect that trend will only continue, and products like this will move from "luxury" to "necessity." While I was very much hoping to be delighted with the TripTips Portable Toilet, the rattling I heard as I opened the package was an initial "uh oh" ... one of the connection points on the end of one of the accordion slats was already broken, presumably during shipping (the bottom most piece shown in the photo). With no time for an exchange, we tried to use it anyway on our trip, giving it structural integrity by many wraps of cord around the base. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough, as other connection points on the same slate soon broke away, making continued use just too risky. I tried to find a way to contact TripTips directly to discuss, but after 20 minutes of finding no phone or email to accomplish that, am now resorting to this review. Gave 2 Stars instead of 1 as I genuinely admire the ingenuity of this product. Hopefully an exchange unit will work better and I can update with more Stars in the future.

Update: I requested an exchange/replacement unit which arrived promptly and undamaged. Raising my rating to 4 stars for good support.

Love this! I suffer from the occasional boutique of IBS & this has come in handy twice while on road trips. My partner & I love to go on road trips exploring roads that off the beaten path that usually do not have public toilets available (gas stations, restaurants, or rest stops) and as I've gotten older, that occasional roadside bush while trying to squat is not always welcome. The "stand to pee" works great, however with IBS "number two" can't wait for a convenient bush. This portable toilet has worked out great! Pull off the side of the road, open both car doors & throw up a quick privacy screen, unroll the toilet, double bag & let your gut take care of the rest.

I added this to my teardrop camper. I love it! It's easy to set up and sturdy. I use two scented bags with Feline Pine kitty litter and never have a smell at all. I did not want a big potty that cannot be easily stored when not in use, and this fits the bill. I did not want a taller potty because then I might smack my head on the camper ceiling in the middle of the night. Absolutely worth the money.

Bought this for camping recently, it was the hit of the trip surprisingly! Put this in a privacy tent with a biodegradable liner, a little cat litter, and you're good to go. Love how fast and easy it is to set up and take down. Also folds up really easily once you locate the 1 and 2 markers inside. Everyone wanted one after experiencing it, so all in all a great buy, and will see many moons I'm sure.

Only minor complaints are that the lid latch is kind of hard to open, not sure if I just got a flawed one, but wish that was easier as me, and especially my 7 year old had a hard time. We just set it down so it didn't fully latch and that worked fine. The other is that my husband claims the seat isn't comfortable. I think it's fine for what it is, but maybe not ideal for long deuces in the wilderness.
