Just got back from the snow, and overall the products worked pretty great. even with three boards i had zero wind noise so i'm not sure where that complaint came from. maybe didn't install correctly. locks work okay.. i wouldn't leave my board on it overnight. i wouldn't do that for any product though. my only complaint was getting it seated with it full of boards. i'm a pretty strong guy and it took the weight of almost two people on it to get it to seat all the way. i will say it does make it slightly easier if you have the key in in the unlocked position and as you're pressing down try to move it to lock as it begins to seat and it will

The rack is easy to install and after one use seems sturdy enough. Did not hear any wind noise and the 3 pairs of skis and one snowboard fit easily. I did not like the fact that the key is needed to open and close the latches. And the key cannot be removed with the latches unlocked. Other than that the product is a good value for the money.

The brackets that clamp on the cross bar are a bit weird and had to be deformed considerably to fit on my oval bar. I also replaced the washers, nuts and bolts with parts that make it easier to remove the rack without tools. The security disadvantage for my change was minimal but should be considered based on your needs. I would liked to have locking devices to affix the racks, but those racks cost $100's more.
