100% recommend!! So glad I bought this brand- I was so hesitant to buy, since I had never used one before and they are expensive (what isn't nowadays?). But I kept getting recommendations for it. I bought it on Black Friday, so I got a pretty good deal on it- we have had it almost a year now. But it is worth the investment. I have not had any issues with it I couldn't easily fix. SO easy to find online recipes since it is the more popular pressure cooker. It stand by our fridge and I have a little note with magnet for times it takes for different common things I cook: chicken, ground meat, spaghetti, lentils, beans, rice, etc. With a 5 month old baby, some days I have almost no time to cook, and this is a life saver each time. It motivates me to cook more than I did before! I cook in bulk for husband to have lunch every day for work, and I tell everyone about it because it is really that good!

I purchased the 7 in 1 IP multicooker around 5 years ago from another vendor. It gave out 2 days ago in the midst of beef stew. Ordered this one, stored the food. When this arrived today and passed initial inspection and testing, I resumed the stew. Except for a few control differences they are essentially the same. Why? Well a pressure cooker can sterilize anything that can handle the heat and pressure for a prescribed period of time. That's market speak, not technically an added feature. Sous Vide? Well that's cooking in a proper plastic bag submerged in water at a constant temperature for a set time period. Ok...whoopie do. That's why I gave it 4 stars, not 5... So there's that. I can make gumbo, beans and andouille sausage, chicken and dumplings, stews and soups and brown and saute in this thing and meat falls off the bone. Real stock can be made in an hour, not all day, simmering in a huge pot, heating up your house. The inner pot from my older model is exactly the same. An extra pot insert comes in handy. Easy to clean since the insert and the lid are what you wash. Keep the pressure lid clean, valves cleaned out , rings inspected and changed when necessary. Buy one. Get the extended warranty. Purchased the Instant Pot Pro this week to improve my nutrition and protein consumption. I have been trying to make gelatinous bone broth for a year; never got it right. The FIRST time I attempted it using my instant pot it came out great! Silky, nutritious and delicious. I am very pleased. Additionally it looks great on my kitchen counter, is surprisingly easy to use, and has so many functions. Looking forward to trying the sous vide function next. This is still the best pressure cooker available on the market. Its features meet my expectations. I use this to cook steam vegetables, rice, beans, and meat. I use the delay start function a lot, so I can set it and go to work. When I come back home, the meal is ready. In addition to the preset types, I also use the general "pressure cook" a lot. For example, I use this to cook hard-boiled egg. The result is perfect every time.
The problem I encountered is condensation of water on the lid running out and dripping to the table when the cooking is done and the pot is not opened for a while. Water accumulated on the inside of the lid will flow to the edge because the lid is shaped like a dome - the center is higher than the edge. It is easy to solve this problem, though. They just need to make the lid flat, or even with the center lower than the perimeter. They can also solve this problem by adding a "water catch ring" right before they get to the sealing gasket so it drips back into the pot.
I like the improvement they made to the way the pressure can be released. Previously, you need to turn the pressure valve to the release position to let the air out. People often forget to make sure it is back to the "seal" position when they use the pot again, making this shoot food out and make a mess in the kitchen, especially when delay start is used (nobody is home when this happens). Cleaning the lid to remove food from all the small crevices is not a quick job. The new design seems to avoid that problem most of the time.
The stainless steel pot is another thing I like. It's easy to clean. I don't need to worry about protective or non-stick layers breaking off the surface of the pot and getting into the food. Everything seems to be designed for me.
