I am still figuring out how to use this so I cannot give an accurate rating on how good it is. I will update if necessary. It is definitely lacking on use of the product for someone like me who is not familiar with how to use a soldering iron.
This kit comes with all kinds of items, but there is no information on what each item is, their uses, or how to actually use them. I had to look up my purchase and the ad on Amazon in order to see what each item was but there is still no information as to how to actually use it. A video on the use of this product would sure be helpful here.
The "˜Operating Manual' included with the kit is only limited to how to turn it on and off and adjust the temperature and calibrate it. It talks about a "set temperature" but does not give any information as to what it should be set to when soldering even the solder included or any other soldering material. A listing of temperatures for various soldering materials, or at least for use of what is included in the kit should be added.
In "˜Temperature Calibration', it says to put the welding head on "the thermometer". What thermometer? There is none included and nothing that says what type of thermometer should be used. How often should this be calibrated? Should that be done before its first use?
A manual that explains each item in the kit and it's use along with pictures should be included. Information on how long it takes before cooling down would also be helpful.

This thing just works, and comes with the tips you'd need for pretty much anything. When I was growing up something like this would have been a commodity, beginners should not avoid this one it's perfect for starting out.

I love that it heats up rather quickly and it has an on/off switch so I can leave it plugged in at my work bench. Also because it has heat control, I can turn the heat down when I'm troubleshooting saving the tip and electrical costs when I'm not using the iron.
