Beautiful substrate but it’s not gravel.

Beautiful, but not exactly gravel or sand. Kind of in-between which works fine for my use. 1 bag took care of my 10g tank.
Another note, if you are looking for completely black, this is not it. There are bits of brownish pieces in the mix (pictured).
Lastly, I will say that even though people have said they didn't rinse before adding to the tank I did and I'm so glad I took the time. During rinses the water was real gray/black and had tons of floaters. I rinsed, skimmed, and drained it till the water was "clearish" which was about 3x. Now it's in the tank and the water is almost as clear as usual.
Great product.

I didn't wash the sand at all, I put it in, let it sit with no filter for 5 days, then on day 6 I filtered it. 1st pic is day one, 2nd pic is day 4, an the last picture is day 6. Will update when I get some fish and coral in it
Way bigger than I realized and worth it

This is was bigger than I expected. I chose to mix this with my Gravel and my plants are doing great and I love how it looks. Took multiple washes to get the cloudiness to stop and still made my water slightly cloudy but it went away after adding some water clarifier. I'm keeping the extra sand in a old popcorn kernel container because there was wayy more than I actually needed. I love it and when my new betta arrives I bet she will too.
Really clean and looks nice, but is more like course sand than gravel

The media could not be loaded. The title says it all. It was really clean right out of the bag (I didn't even bother rinsing it because I didn't have a strainer with small enough holes), but it's more like course sand than gravel. I layed out the bag on top the substrate in the aquarium and poured the water directly out onto the bag, and the water didn't even cloud up or anything. I did have to stir the substrate up a bit to release some trapped air bubbles though. I really like the look of it and think it will contrast nicely with my red cherry shrimp when I get them.
Good stuff
