this fountain is a seratonin machine! i like to keep a bucket or pool of water handy in the garden & wanted a solar fountain to disturb the surface and prevent mosquitos from breeding in the water. it has been effective. when i use the attachments, the spray effect makes a lovely view. I haven't had a single technical issue thus far.
as pictured, I currently am just letting it bubble, which is a peaceful sound in the garden. I attached a net outside to help keep detritus out of the filter, but if I were using fresh water in a bird bath I'm sure it would hold up just fine.

Very happy with product! The only flaw I would say is it has some power behind shooting the water out as it goes everywhere else but back in the bucket. Other than that it works as stated and looks perfect in our little herb planter! Very pleasing to look at

I purchased the 2.5 because the pictures showed suction cups on the bottom, I read it had the low water safety, and the motor didn't take a filter. Well one of the three was true, it does not need a filter. It does have the tubes to put on to keep it in the middle and not floating around so much if that is what you want, I didn't. I am keeping it just because I needed something, but I think the one I had that I really liked I saw with other supplies yesterday. Birds do seem to like it, but the were having fun in the bird bath before I added it

Great value for the money , works well but needs 100% sunlight to operate properly.The different nozzles are great to choose your desired look. When not in use I did discover it should be kept out of the sun, because it will run even if it is not in water.

I have a large cement bird bath that the other fountains move along the edge causing the water when it sprays up to leak out over the side which empties the bath in about 10 minutes. This one with its bumper straws sticking out on 4 sides keeps it from moving around and it stays in the center so the water shoots up and back into the bowl. My last fountain I tried gerri rigging it with long zip ties glued on four sides underneath which worked ok but I didn't like the way it looked, these straw barriers are clear and not noticeable at all in the water. A little tip, when you stick the straws in the holes, gently bend it downward by the hole so when you place it in the bowl the straws don't stick upward, it works perfect!
