First off I use this for regular bicycles not E-bikes. So I really can't attest to the weight rating. Assembly was easy and once it's on the vehicle raising and lowering it is very simple and easy. Holds bikes securely, I have read other reviews that said the hooks that slide down to hold the bikes come loose. I have not experienced this problem at all. I did use the included strap just in case but have never had one loosen. I only haul them 20 to 40 miles so oif your on a longer trip maybe check them just in case. Not the heaviest gauge of metal but plenty sturdy and still a manageable weight to lift and attach to vehicle. The velcro straps that go over the wheels are a bit fidgety and kind of a pain but again once I figured out a good way to get them on they do the job and again have never come loose. I use the rack for a salsa gravel bike and a trek commuter so again if you have a heavier E-bike this may not be the best review for you. I would recommend this product for regular bicycles. I'm sure there are better racks out there but not at this price. Happy cycling!!!!

I was looking for a reasonably priced carrier to transport my Velotric Discover Step Though E Bike. When used with a Quadratec Adjustable Bike Rack Bar Adapter, this carrier does the job. The directions were pretty easy to follow and the carrier went together in about 20 minutes or so.
Although, this is designed to carry 2 bikes, I only set it up to carry one bike in the position closest to the vehicle. It makes it a little trickier to position the bike ( i.e. lowering the hooking mechanism, and removing the hook), but I think it is more secure. It doesn't hang off the back so far. I have already used this to transport my bike 30 miles or so, and the bike didn't budge, so I am pretty happy with it. I still have the option of quickly putting on the pieces for the second bike if I ever need to do that.

Well Made Bike Rack With a Few Issues

Overall this is a good bike rack. 4 instead of 5 stars because one of the wheel bases isnt straight and the strap they give you is barely long enough. They include a hitch tightener but I found that its not the easiest to use so I paid $15 for hefty haul hitch tightener. I also paid $8 for a 10' ratchet tie down to replace the included tie down strap. The wheel base isnt so far out of being straight as to be a problem with the integrity of the rack. So ill live with that. The center post is something you have to figure out how to work with when putting the bikes on the rack. I put my wifes smaller lighter ebike on the inside with the post in the down position and the hooks lowered then raised the post and adjusted the hook. I put the inside hook on top and the outside hook for my taller heavier ebike underneath. I read someone complain that the hooks loosen up. For me everything stayed just perfectly where they were tightened to. Drove 90 miles, 50 at 70-75 mph and 40 on a 2 lane road at 45-55. No problem. Everything was as tight and in place when I got to my destination as when I left.
