Produces an abundance of plants with very little effort. Since purchasing the hydroponic system in February, I've grown a variety of herbs. After the last batch, I decided on Coleus for something pretty on my kitchen counter. I'm totally sold on it for these dull winter months.
I often respond to requests for reviews, however, no one asked for this one. I'm just so pleased with the results. It runs quietly, has a guage that tells me when the water is getting low and more than justifies the price paid. I'd like to see QYO come up with starter seed sets for their 8 plant gardens. I purchased mine from Aerogarden and theirs come in sets of 6.

This product came right on time. It was a Christmas present and was well received. The unit was set quickly with a little confusion in the directions. Plants are growing great and it has been really cool watching everything grow. Unfortunately the timer has crapped out and so it needs to be turned off and on when being used. Luckily we don't need it as someone turns it on in the am and off at night. I have not contacted the seller about the problem so don't know how they would respond but really don't want to go through the hassle of returning it now. We have started harvesting leaves off the lettuce and spinach already.
I would recommend it if you don't have one.
So we have had it for a year now and have used it to start seedlings for my summer garden as well as lettuce for fall and spring. A couple of months ago I started some perennial flowers and they are doing great and have a good start for next year. Figured out the timer issue, someone in the house kept turning it off at night and so it needed to be turned back on in the morning. We have spoken to that person and now everything is fine. Clean it as needed and add fertilizer every two weeks. Good to go! Still recommend

Update after 2 months: All of my seeds sprouted. At 3 weeks the cilantro seeds wouldn't sprout until I removed the plastic dome cover. In the past 2 weeks, everything has been growing significantly and the water level decreases at a much faster rate. The basil leaves are huge. I've tried to grow outside and have bombed. This is my first successful attempt at growing herbs. This is an amazing system.
Update after 3 weeks: all seeds except one have sprouted. The cilantro seeds have not so im going to try new pod and seeds. I'm enjoying checking on my herbs everyday. I added a photo to show how far my seeds have gotten after 3 weeks.
Update: I changed my review from 3 stars to 4 stars. It's been officially one week, everything is sprouting except for cilantro. Basil is ahead of everything else.
I'm not sure what to think about this system yet. I planted basil, jalapenos, serrano peppers, oregano, parsley, cilantro and mint. I'm on day 5, the basil and oregano are sprouting. I'm not sure if the others will.
Cons:
Directions are not written well, I got stuck on how much water to add to each plant food bottle A and B. I ended up You Tubing. I'm pretty sure the directions are written by a non-USA manufacturer due to grammatical errors.
The water pump is on the right side therefore you can see that the water flows upwards into the pods on that side only. I'm concerned that the pods on the right are getting too much water and the pods on the left aren't getting enough. But then again, I have herbs sprouting and not sprouting on both sides.
Maybe it's too premature. I will update this review later.
