Keeps them entertained

My cat is an only child and gets bored when I'm at work, I got her this toy and it keeps her engaged and runs her energy down so she sleeps through the night. Has different attachments and charges quickly.
Keeps cat entertained

My cat is 10yrs old & he has been bored lately while I am working so I was looking for a toy that he can play with by himself in the background that will keep him entertained. He does not like those puzzle games or the moving balls/mice at all. He barely pays them attention. He prefers if I throw a ball for him to chase, or if I use a wand toy for him to try to catch.
This toy was a game changer. First when you turn it on it does take a few seconds to start up so I put it in the center of the floor & as cats do he immediately walked over to sniff it. The feathers popped out startling him & he was hooked. At first he tried catching them immediately but then he started watching and trying to guess where it would come out so he could pounce. The feathers pop out a couple times from the same side then randomly go elsewhere so it is not easy for him to judge. He was entertained for 15-20min before he walked off & sat to keep an eye on it from a distance. I put it away shortly after, brought it out the next day & he was back at it. Definitely a great buy.
A few things to point out
- I would not leave a cat unsupervised with it. I saw that he was able to grab ahold of the feather a few times stopping it from retracting. He didn't try to eat it, he let it go seconds later but that made me wary because he might one day try to take a nibble.
- it cab be pretty noisy so if you're looking for something quiet this isn't it. The mechanism isn't super loud it's that my cat moves the box around while he attacks & it scrapes along the ground. If you can anchor it (think velcro command strips) then that would resolve the problem.
- it takes like 10 seconds to start up, and periodically stops for a few seconds. Not sure why but I mistakenly thought the charge had died after the short time playing which wasn't the case.

Great cat toy

I have 3 cats and they all play with this cat toy. I have tried several different sensory cat toys and all unsuccessful. My eldest cat has done nothing but sleep and eat for years until I purchased this item. They love it and I haven't had to replace the teaser yet (some are included). This is money well spent.
Will entertain your cats while it lasts

I had to convince my cat to play with it by manually tripping the motion sensor, because it has a very short range. But once the cat got into it enough to be curious and poke around, the sensor was sensitive enough to work. She very quickly grew to enjoy playing with this, to the extent that I came to realize just how short the battery lasts. I have to recharge this toy every day! That said it reaches a full charge in only about an hour which isn't too bad. Still, I would've preferred if it could last longer between charges. (Edit: I discovered why it drains so fast--when switched on it's constantly blinking an infrared light, which is how it senses that a cat is near. This blinking continues even if the toy isn't in use, and will eventually drain the battery no matter what.)
They include some extra feather tips for the arm, and replacing the tip is pretty easy. Unfortunately the rubber socket that holds them didn't survive. My cat finally got a good bite on the preinstalled feather tip and ripped it out, tearing the rubber socket in the process. When attaching the next feather tip I had to secure it with a zip tie because it wouldn't stay attached on its own due to the torn rubber.
So overall, I'd say this was a good purchase as it keeps my cat entertained while I'm at work. Kind of like when I was a kid and my mom got me a Nintendo to keep me out of trouble. But I don't expect it to last too long due to the fact that a literal predator is attacking it every day. The plastic chassis is sturdy in the sense that she can knock it around all over the place and it doesn't break. But the fact that the rubber socket tore after the first feather tip came out wasn't good.
For design improvements I would suggest replacing the built-in battery with removable batteries, so we can quickly swap that out for a fresh pair while charging the depleted battery. Also, the socket holding the feather tip should be rigid plastic or metal so it doesn't tear when the cat finally gets a death grip on the feather and is determined to rip it out. And adding in some chirpy squeaky noises would be a nice touch too, with a switch to turn them on or off based on your personal noise tolerance.

Fun cat game

I bought this for two cats, primarily for one who hunts excessively and needs things to satisfy that instinct to hunt. It's a genius idea for cats. At first he was intrigued, stared from a distance, got brave, moved in closer, began to try his best to catch the little floofy thing that pops in and out and around. It totally captured his attention. Suddenly tho he wants nothing to do with it. When it's turned on and he hears the noise, he actually leaves the room. There aren't any rough edges that would've hurt him. I'm not sure why the disinterest. A sad mystery for sure. Fortunately, the shy cat is having fun with it now.
