I bought this as a substitute for a cast iron grill plate. Same size, same pattern on both front and back as my cast iron griddle... HOWEVER, this aluminum grill plate has a non-stick surface that makes cleaning a breeze PLUS I don't need to worry about seasoning the surface or rust. No "hot-spots" since the plate conducts heat evenly, and it allows me to char the steak's surface quickly for "black and blue", char-rare, or blackened Cajun Style. I'll get several more for my RV and for Christmas gifts! Well worth the price!

So I needed another pan to fry my bacon up because the pan I had wore out. This pan came in on time and when I took it out of the package I was impressed with the quality, weight and handle of the pan. Put the handle on and used it twice. Heat distribution was perfect as well as cleaning the pan and I will say my last grill pan was a granite stone and this pan seems to be much better than that one due to the coating of the pan seems to be thicker. But I will update later if anything changes.
