I got the SS as other reviews on the coloured balls stated that they faded or pealed. This appears to be only SS without a coating. I waxed it when it came and it's been out now 3 months and is still looking new. If it gets dull I can polish it and rewas it. It is light weight and had to glue it down to the base in the yard.....

I wasn't sure if this large gazing ball was going to look incredible or tacky. Turns out it looks INCREDIBLE in my yard. I bought a tall vase for a stand and filled it with rocks to make sure the wind doesn't blow it over. I rigged a metal stand inside the vase to position the gazing ball about 1 inch higher that the vase. I did this so there is drainage when it rains, plus it looks like the gazing ball is hovering above the vase. Very cool!
