Look at broken parts to replace with new parts.

There were no installation directions. By looking at the parts I was replacing, I was able to take the old parts off and replace them with the new parts. This brought new life to my old vertical blinds without spending very much.

I bought this to replace a tiny flat gear in my vertical blinds that got lost when I was replacing the hanger clips and the blind wouldn't rotate without it. I snapped apart one of these carriages which have the exact flat gear I needed in it and put it in my old blind along with the new hanger clip. I used the hanger clip from this repair kit since it fit perfectly and was simple to do. Everything working again in literally 1 minute. I'm thrilled and I expect this would suffice for most people's vertical blind repair needs.

The product was exactly as advertised and they're good quality. There were no instructions included, not even a link to a website or something, so I took away a star. It's still easy enough to figure out if you have time, simple tools, and room to work.
These were not a perfect replacement for my verticals, but I was able to hang one in my track as a temporary. While shopping for a perfect replacement I realized I could steal a part (the central shaft) from one of these and fix my broken original. Sure enough, it snapped in and fit just fine. Keep that in mind with your repair and you could save yourself some hassle and wait. I'm keeping my nine spares on hand just in case this happens again.
Tip: Having a lot of floor space is helpful. When you first take them apart, if you have to unthread the whole rig, move a good original to the spot where the broken one is. Put the broken one (or the temp replacement) on the end easiest to get to. For me, that was opposite the side with the chains. If you have to take it down a second time, it's much faster to swap out if it's on an end. It also looks less ugly in the meantime.

Works great if your blinds hang 3 1/8 inches apart. Mine hang 2 1/8 inches so stringers are too long
