I thought I might like this clock when I saw it online but I like it much more even than I thought I would. It looks great in my living room and keeps accurate time. I can read it from across the room but never hear it. It was a good buy.

The media could not be loaded. Clock arrived in good shape with no flaws. Description said quiet but one pic said "soft ticking" as did one other reviewer who complained about ticking. Since I was looking for ticking clock to replace mechanical clock, I was disappointed to find that it is a silent clock. (However, since I wanted ticking clock, I eventually found free iPad metronome that I use to simulate clock sound.). Also, I successfully used pendulum from former mechanical clock, that has a black pendulum rod, not silver rod as is supplied with this clock. I think the flash of silver rod against black wood stripe on clock would have been way too visually bothersome to view in a living room so you might want to spray paint rod black.

The clock came in a little damaged as the dark wood peice on the bottom front was wrapped to protect it but it was wrapped too tightly and came off. The nails attaching it were too small to allow me to use them so we tried several attempts at gluing the piece back on. I just didn't want to go through the hassle of returning it. So far, our third attempt at gluing has held. It is a lovely clock. I love the swinging pendulum and the two colors of the wood. We wanted a clock face that was easy to read from a distance. Great purchase.
