Great fun, read reviews for tips

The media could not be loaded. This was a really fun build overall. The only small thing I had was the holes for the button placement on the rear were on the wrong side for the supplied wires according to the diagram. Was no issue though I just swapped everything around and it was just fine. The customizing was my favorite part though tedious haha!
Tip: cut everything out with exacto knife and save them from chipping or breaking. On that note, sand every edge before gluing together.
Place the window screens in as you build them not at the end, will be much easier.
Solder the electrical connections for a much easier time with the connections actually working your first go around.
To find out which wire on the led string is + and - hold them onto a watch battery and they will light up on the correct sides.
Have a lot of patience and go slow for best result :) it took me roughly 1.5 weeks because I took my time and made sure to do things correct.
It's going to be great on my books shelf :) only reason for the 4 star versus 5 would be the difficulty of the electrical and the mis-aligned holes on the back of the project, just took a lot of reworking.

Decent project but lights are faulty

Edit: the seller contacted me quickly and is shipping replacement parts.
The diorama is plain, but easily customizable to make it more dynamic. Mine came out rather good until I reached the last stage in assembly and discovered the lighting system was faulty.
Things you might want to know before you start:
It is going to take a lot of hours to complete.
If you're painting it, paint everything before you assemble it.
The instructions have you put the window "glass" in after it is assembled, but that proved difficult and messy getting glue on the windows and in a few cases the pressure caused the bars on the windows to become dislodged. I would suggest installing it the glass each window before you attach them to the walls.
The tiny pieces used as supports in the rounded windows break easily, but there are several extras if that happens. Unfortunately, they do not explain this in the instructions, so I have a few windows missing supports, and it was only after it was complete that I realized there were spares.
The big issue is that the circuit board to control the lights is faulty. Looking through the review this seems to be an issue many buyers have had. I have submitted a message through amazon and will revise the review if I get a response. But as it stands, I cannot rate a defective product any higher than 1 star.
I hope this helps anyone thinking of buying this kit.

A prewired electrical panel with leds at the appropriate windows would make the construction more enjoyable. An enlarged or blowup of the multiple wire connections would be a game changer.

Great build!

The building itself was great. I added my own stickers and details to make it nice. The electrical instructions were a bit confusing but I read reviews and was able to do it.
Fantastic

This was ridiculously fun to make. I guess one person could slap it together in a week or a few days if they were determined but I took my time and really enjoyed the process. I had so much fun with every part of this that I truly wish I had another one to get to use some of the alternative design ideas I had while working on it. I recommend buying a glue with a brush applicator- I bought every kind of glue CVS had so I could find the one I liked the most and if you are interested my favorite was gorrilla glue with brush and nozzle. It dries fast and you can control how much and where you use it easily even with all the curves and angles. You can make this as easy or as complicated as you want, there is so much room for personalization that you cant help but have fun with it! The individual pieces and the whole completed unit is relatively sturdy, I have no problem carting it around and holdong it at all angles to add something. Be careful with the window pane wooden braces though, by the nature of them they are thin, (if they were thicker they would definitely detract from the look so please don't change them if you are reading this item creator!) they provide you with extras thankfully so when you inevitably press too hard and break the tiniest one you will have a backup. They also give you extra signs incase you want the signs to say something different or want to use differentones than the picture suggests. I went with things like Malfoy and Malkins, Prince's Panacea's, etc.. I did have some trouble getting the signs into the little holes and/or getting them to stay how I wanted them but I got there in the end :)
