I was going to reorder the brand I have three of since I know what the silly pictures mean. The display on this one is a little more intuitive but I wouldn't have guessed 12M was for maintenance since I assume/hope that if it's in charge mode it would switch to maintenance when fully charged? It would be nice if it displayed the charge voltage rather than just FULL when in Maintenance mode. Checking with my OTC brand VOM I saw 13.8V when the charger displayed FUL. Disconnecting it the battery was indeed at 13.8 and dropped rapidly (13.6V in about 30 sec). I think nominally the battery can hold ~13.2V when not connected to a load. Reconnecting the display showed 13.6 and rapidly climbed up to and help 14.4. IIRC that's about the voltage the alternator supplies. It's a bonus that this charger can be used as a 12V supply. Not sure when that might be useful but if you have something that is powered from the "cigarette lighter" I guess you could use this outside of a vehicle. I think maybe it's to replace a battery of a car that's in storage but you want to keep the memory and maybe have the dome light work.

The media could not be loaded. For years I had problems with my cars I did not drive much draining the battery with all the electronic wizardry that runs all the time, once your battery in your car is drained completely, it cannot be charged back up or at least the several I had could not, so I had to buy new ones which got expensive fast. A friend of mine told me "just get a trickle charger" which I had never heard of but it was designed to do exactly what I needed. It automatically charges up your battery when it drops below a certain voltage (this is NOT a jumper or charger to bring it back from the dead) and for the 4-5 years I have been using one it works perfectly. The one I had died and they replaced it with a new type that does not do as well so I went shopping and since my lawnmower was having the same problem I looked for one that would also charge 6V batteries and this is the model I choose and glad I did. First of all the readout shows you exactly where your charge is at (the old one was a red or green light), it can do my car and my mower and easy to use, I use the clamps for my mower but I used the battery ring ends clips mounted semi-permanently so I can keep it charged and all I have to do to drive it is raise the hood pull the disconnecting plug and I am ready to go. All things considered this is a great 5 Star rated item for me.

This charger has been working well so far. It has only been used a handful of times, so its reliability is still unknown. However, this charger is full of features, has a reasonably good charging rate and is a fraction of the price of other name brand chargers, which have failed on me with little use. I would recommend this charger.
