They liked these bongos. It was so much fun for them to play with. They were really nice. It seemed much nicer than the average set. Everything worked fine. It really can keep them busy for a long time. It would make a great gift for a boy or a girl. We were really happy and would recommend it.

These look as shown, and is made of solid wood and not layered/laminate. The finish is matte and not shiny, that's okay. It comes in tune as far as I can tell. This is my first bongo set, so I don't have much to compare it to, but it seems very adequate and easy to use. It's fun and addicting. My kids, ages 2, 4, and 5 enjoyed playing on it... and at this price point I had no issues with them using it. I see better looking ones but they also cost more and I don't know that I'd want my young kids playing it. It looks fine, plays good, and is a great value I think for what it is. The bag is very thin though and barely padded. I'm keeping the box for extra protection for it as the bag does not seem adequate. It was a little uncomfortable to have between my legs to play, but I don't know if that's how they assembled/designed this one or if any set of bongos would have this issue. Great introductory instrument though. Good for kids and adult beginners.

These are really fun. While I am a bit confused on how to tighten the heads (my first set), they were ready to play right out of the gate and have a great tone. Also, they come in a handy little bag to store them in. Overall, 5 out of 5 stars. Highly recommended.
