Overall I'm happy with this battery charger. I like that the charger keeps you apprised of the charging status. This charger also has a number of modes for different charging issues. I would however like to see longer charging cables so I could move the body of the charger off the top of the battery out of the way of where I'm working. Other than that little inconvenience I'm happy. How long it will last only time will tell.
Works well, good value, but the Mode Selection button can be faulty

I bought this item on Prime Day to recondition the battery in my son's car. His battery had a couple of cells that were low and even after those cells were replenished with distilled water, his car was not able to start (the starter solenoid would not engage). This item features automatic operation, 7-stage charging, and multiple modes for charging various types of batteries (standard, AGM/gel, Wet aka Deep Cycle, or motorcycle batteries that are typically less than 2 amp-hours. Lithium batteries are not supported by this item.) This item also has automatic temperature compensation (unfortunately the display is only in Celsius) and a desulfurization/repair mode.
The first unit I bought worked to successfully recondition and recharge my son's car battery using the REPAIR option (yay!), however on that unit it was very difficult to change modes using the Mode Selection button. I exchanged that first unit for an identical one and the 2nd unit is a lot better, it is much easier to change modes on the second unit.
Some people are mentioning that the fan is loud. Yes I heard the fan on both of my units but I don't think that it is "loud" (especially compared to some older computer case cooling fans). Other people complain that "the cords are short" or "the wires are thin" or "it doesn't charge lithium" or "it's so light". Well, all true, but look at the price! For less than $25 I was able to rescue my son's car battery and forestall a $100+ purchase. Also by purchasing this unit I gained the ability to charge 12v and 24v batteries. I do think the Mode Select button is a problem on some units which is why I exchanged the original unit for an identical unit (which seems to be working fine).
I feel that this battery charger is a good value and will do a good job of taking care of and recharging your 12-volt battery. (I have not tested it on 24-volt batteries, nor have I tried the trickle charge function.)

I don't know what type of sorcery this thing is, but it literally repaired my battery. Battery had a full charge but still wouldn't start the car due to it sitting for months without driving it. So when I tried to charge it, after about 2 minutes the charger kept saying FULL then giving me an Error code. So I read the trouble-shooting part of the tiny manual, and it said if this happens the battery could be fixed by putting it in repair mode. Knowing absolutely NOTHING about cars (yep, this was the first time in my life that I ever even touched my car's battery or battery prongs for that matter) I was seriously doubting this was going to work. But the car was dead, wouldn't start, and ordering this 25 dollar device was worth a shot before getting it towed to the shop (someone had suggested to me it may be the alternator). I put it in repair mode by simply tapping the little fingerprint icon on the top of the charger until the little LED light next to Repair was lit. Immediately the charger displayed the letters PUL which I believe stands for pulse or pulsating, and it ran for about 5 minutes then gave me another Error code (Eii, I think it said). So I took both clamps off the battery, unplugged the charger, put the clamps back on, then plugged it back in. Once it booted up I tapped the little fingerprint icon again to put it back in Repair mode, because it starts off in Standard mode. Once again after about 5 minutes it gave me the same error code. I almost gave up thinking I just needed a new battery or maybe even an alternator but something told me to try unplugging it and starting over again and I'm glad I did! This time it stayed in repair mode, with PUL flashing steadily for HOURS instead of just 5 minutes with no error codes popping up. lol Then after about 6 hours it beeped, and said FULL again... I got a little nervous, except this time when I nervously stuck my key in the ignition the car started! lol Although I knew it would... this was the first time I'd heard beeping when I opened my car door. I don't know how this gadget Pulsed my battery back to life, but it worked! I. Am. A believer. lol If I could get another year out of this battery that would be great. Now I'm going to buy another one of these things and stash it. So if the one I just used EVER goes out I'll have a backup.
Brought a dead AGM battery to life that couldn't even be jumped to start car!

Left my Benz E350 lights on over night. Absolutely drained a relatively new AGM battery that wouldn't start the car even with a jump. Ordered this and put it on repair mode and then AGM charge mode about 6 hours. Battery came back from the dead. A few days later, lent it to a friend whose Corolla had a bad alternator. He was going to get a new battery from Walmart. I asked him to try it out. Next day he returned it saying he ordered this from Amazon. So why 4 stars? The selections are not easily seen.
Works great, but not if your battery is totally dead

The charger is very easy to use. Just hook it up, it will try to auto detect what you have, and charge accordingly -- you can override if you don't like what it picked.
But it doesn't work at all on dead batteries -- which I had. So minus one star because sometimes that's what you really need.
