A fun build

This is a very well thought out and we'll designed laser cut kit. Things go together with no surprises IF you read and follow the excellent instruction book.
Much of what you see in my photos are additional details added by me. The figures, the snow. crows and wall Ivy. These are NOT included! Signs in the kit are laser cut and lettering burned into the wood. I tried to paint in the lines but failed so my signs were printed on paper and glued to the original wood signs. I want all to realize that a kit built right "out of the box" is not going to have the details I have added BUT it is still a worthwhile kit to build. My greatest compliment is the lighting that comes with the enhanced kit.That adds a LOT to the magic of the alley.
A roof comes with the kit and I added that but bought a dragon on Amazon to perch on the roof.
One suggestion I would have is to add the "glass" to the rectangular windows before gluing them to the wall. The windows are three sided (front and two sides) but the "glass" is one piece and really needs to be cut into three pieces (front and two sides) to fit properly, Folding the "glass" into thirds just didn't work for me.
Take your time as the joy and fun is in the journey not the destination.

This was ridiculously fun to make. I guess one person could slap it together in a week or a few days if they were determined but I took my time and really enjoyed the process. I had so much fun with every part of this that I truly wish I had another one to get to use some of the alternative design ideas I had while working on it. I recommend buying a glue with a brush applicator- I bought every kind of glue CVS had so I could find the one I liked the most and if you are interested my favorite was gorrilla glue with brush and nozzle. It dries fast and you can control how much and where you use it easily even with all the curves and angles. You can make this as easy or as complicated as you want, there is so much room for personalization that you cant help but have fun with it! The individual pieces and the whole completed unit is relatively sturdy, I have no problem carting it around and holdong it at all angles to add something. Be careful with the window pane wooden braces though, by the nature of them they are thin, (if they were thicker they would definitely detract from the look so please don't change them if you are reading this item creator!) they provide you with extras thankfully so when you inevitably press too hard and break the tiniest one you will have a backup. They also give you extra signs incase you want the signs to say something different or want to use differentones than the picture suggests. I went with things like Malfoy and Malkins, Prince's Panacea's, etc.. I did have some trouble getting the signs into the little holes and/or getting them to stay how I wanted them but I got there in the end :)

The media could not be loaded. I REALLY enjoyed painting this, piecing it together, and finally seeing the end result! Sadly the instructions provided aren't step by step. Definitely sand the rough spots and excess glue clumps before painting (only did it at the end)... Emory boards work great! The wiring was easier than I expected, but the wires are SOOO thin, so be careful or they'll break. I ended up adding a small wire LED light strand with coin battery switch because the one it came with broke, but it still looks GREAT! I used black leather and antique finished decorative book corners for the outside ---AND I LOVE the way the it turned out!

The media could not be loaded. So much detail! Was a lot of fun to make and soon much to catch the eye in such a small space. Probably took me around 20 hours to complete. Very much worth the money when done.
Things I didn't like was mostly the glue, seems to jump to the bottom when u set it down and forever to fall to the nozzle end in use. Book covers were tedious and considering their placement a lot of missed opportunities to show off that detail.
Tips would recommend any pieces you need flip over the whole thing and hit the connectors from the back side with an exacto knife. This way you don't damage the finish. Also a stain pen to cover up the light spots where pieces are connected to the tree. Otherwise a lot of fun and a nice looking shadow box when complete!

Was an amazing 3-4 days assembling the Book Nook. Not for people with little temper and patience :)
The instructions are a bit difficult to follow, one might need to use extra logic skills to get through the assembling process. All the necessary items are provided; there are quite a few extra materials (such as copper rod), therefore no need to worry if it's going to be enough till the end.
