The Telescope is very easy to assemble and child friendly. We have a great time trying to identify objects. The use for a child has to be adult-guided, my 6-year old needs help focusing the object with one lens so he can make little movements with the other lens and be able to see details in objects. The objects need to be very bright so it's easier for children to see them and make the proper adjustment. Because of its size, it's easy to place and move around so it's easy to bring camping. The telescope definitely will keep your children distracted and interested in celestial objects. It's a great family activity.

We got this for my son's 8th birthday after we went on a camping trip with our Cub Scouts and my son and I snuck off to go look at the stars and I used an app on my phone to show him what stars and constellations we were looking at and he decided he wanted a telescope to "find a far away star so [he] can name it!" and look at planets.
This was the weekend before his birthday and not knowing anything about telescopes and also needing to look at the various star naming websites we confided in our neighbor who has invested in a highend telescope and knew what to look for. He told me what to look for and this was the first one I picked since it can be used during the day and came with accessories others did not.
It did not disappoint! The cellphone attachment allowed my husband to get some decent pictures of the moon. Even in a small town with light pollution we were able to see stars we didn't see without it and we can't wait for the opportunity to go out in the country, or camping, to see how much more we can see!
