I use Apple tech as much as possible for across-the-board capability with iphone, ipad, IMac, etc. A lot of times this is an issue with peripherals because Apple devices seem to still be taking a back seat to Windows or Msoft. Thus is the case with setting up the Epson printer. "If you are using a Mac or your computer does not have a CD/DVD drive, an internet connection is required to obtain the product software". But a disk is provided for Windows. I attempted the download the Epson Smart Panel app, but that led me to a "monthly payment" setup page ... so that was a waste of time.
I suggest, at least if you're trying to set up this printer on an Apple product, you simply use the instructions on the paper sheet that comes in the Epson box, and have your wireless internet devices (router) network password handy. And don't forget to go into your settings and change your default printer information.
Overall I'm pleased with only taking 45 minutes to be up and running with the printer, but I can't wait for the day when you only need to push one or two buttons and devices install, configure and setup by themselves.

The CONS: I HATE the paper tray setup, but LOVE the BACK FEED due to 110# card stock that won't go through ANY OTHER PRINTER! THIS ONE just breezed right on through. I HAVE that you DO NOT have a paper TRAY option. I only wanted the back feed tray for that card stock!! THE MATERIAL of this printer IS REALLY CHEAP PLASTIC! AND OVERPRICED AT THAT. I AM NOT A TECH-NO-WEENIE person, so trying to set this thing up WAS A PAIN IN THE A... for wireless. GIVE ME A PLUG IN ... and had it going in FIVE MINUTES!!! TECH SUPPORT ... uh, maybe, maybe not. I was just using my phone or the instruction sheet in 40 languages to set it up .... frustrator! Get you a USB cord & say NO on the do you want to set up wireless question. It goes so much faster.
THIS DOES NOT NOT NOT COME WITH THE STINKIN' USB CORD YOU NEED if you don't want to use wireless. I'm OLD, and OLD-SCHOOL!. I like simplicity. Plug er' in & let er' rip. USB cord allowed me to DO JUST THAT. AND I'm lucky I had a snag of cords stuffed in a box ... wallah!!
BUT:
I LOVE THIS PRINTER if for no other reason than the 110# card stock that it can handle effortlessly! Now that I've attempted to test my digital kits for junk journaling ... the print quality is undeniable .... GOOD!!
I WANT BORDERLESS ... and even though I spotted it somewhere ... it's not letting me find it again. SO, at this point, I don't know if it really DOES OR DOES NOT print borderless. When you see pictures of the machine on Amazon it SHOWS a beautiful BORDERLESS print sitting in the output tray ... so I'm thinking there has to be a way. AND digitals can be wishy-washy anyway...I'll be hunting around in the menu on the control panel (menu panel) to see if it can be set from there. Right now I"M EXHAUSTED from attempting to set up wireless ... I should know better. This may beat out my hp and put it in the grave. BUT I'm hanging on for now to see how this baby performs and if the ink really does put out the volume of copies they say it does. Only time will tell.

While I like the advantage of ink bottles rather than cartridges, this printer prints on one side only. It is noisy, too, in operation. To set it up, I had to download to my i-Phone the app that directed me step by step. It would not, could not connect to Wi-Fi, so the install package asked if I wanted to use direct Wi-Fi, so it's in sync with my phone now...I don't print from my phone, but I can't get my other printer to connect with Wi-Fi now, I think because of the Epson. Too tech for me!

This is my second epson i have bought here on amazon . Not because it was to be replaced or not working... no the opposite. my roommate moved out and took the epson 2800 series eco printer ..i only had my inkjet...junker.... i ended up selling that for 5 bucks..sucker at that price ...it is rediculous for those, which brings me to this awesome ink quantity i have used this eco printer alot...and the ink is just approaching the first notch below full....its great... and the colors are only half way to the first notch... thank you epson.... if nothing else you will save tons on ink compared to inkjets ... you can download the manual how to use . not bad setting up and nice to use on phone and laptop.. only thing i havent figured out is how to make the print darker or lighter ....didnt see much in the menu and on owners manual.

Epson. You really cute go wrong. No cartridges. Comes with at least 2 years worth of ink. Depending on how much you print. If not used often make sure to have a sheet to print once a week to run the colors separately to avoid clogs. Make sure to print a check page before printing pictures etc... to make sure everything is running properly. In case you need to run a head cleaning process. Very simple to do.
