This wet suit fits a little more form fitted than another wetsuit I bought at the same time and in the same size. I know a wetsuit is suppose to be form fitted, but if your child is a little bit thicker, this isn't the wetsuit for you. It was kind of tight going on and that was before it even got wet.

I purchased these (2 pairs) for my grandsons, 9 and 12 years. I actually bought the size 12 for both of them as the younger is a bit more sturdy built than the oldest and they fit them both perfectly. Really helped keeping them warm enough to enjoy the tropical surf. Having said all of this, I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. The cuffs have sealing gaskets and the fit is comfortable. I appreciate the details in scaling down an adult wetsuit and keeping to a high standard.
I have used this as a more balanced buoyancy assistance for my daughter learning to swim. It helps her focus on her strokes and be confident she can rest and float comfortably if needed with this extra assistance. We call it blubber for fun.
Also, our local indoor pool is kept cold for lap swimming and this has made it where we can practice for an hour without needing to warm up out of the pool. It is comfortable enough to continue play in the splash zone and not worry with getting too much sun exposure!
