I purchased Guess in 10 Junior Animal Kingdom for my grandchildren to use when they visited us for Thanksgiving. My grandchildren are 3 and 5. The purpose of this trivia game is to ask questions and guess the name of the animal on the chosen card. My grandchildren quickly learned the way to play this game and had lots of fun playing it. They played it several times over the course of the weekend. This game is very age appropriate. Children do not have to know how to read. They quickly learn what questions to ask guided by the pictures on the cards. (Does this animal have wings? Does it live in the water? What does it eat?) This game helps kids classify information and sharpens their mental observation skills as they piece clues together. I now plan to by Guess in 10 Junior Inside My House or Food We Eat to play the next time my grandchildren come to visit.

I bought this for my 4 year old. It is too hard for her to play. One person draws an animal card. Then the guesser picks up 10 cards one by one. You have to remember what the pictures on each of the 10 cards is promoting you to ask. Maybe after playing it a whole bunch you would eventually learn them.... but even with these 10 clues, my 4 year old rarely has enough information to guess the critter correctly so I need to give more clues. Plus, it doesn't really help if the other child doesn't answer the 10 clues correctly. Overall, I wish I had bought something else for Christmas.
