I have several Beaver Craft tools and think they are a good purchase for the money.
They stay sharp with just a leather stropping so far. I've never had to put one on a stone to sharpen it yet!
If you dull or chip the blade like people say in the reviews you are using it wrong. They are not for prying. Just for thin slices or whittling. Use your pocket knife for prying chunks or scraping off bits.

This is a great knife for the $10 price. Overall the blade came in sharp and from the first few cuts it is of good quality. My first impressions holding the knife I found the handle to be quite uncomfortable and quite bulky. I fixed this quickly by sanding down the handle on a belt sander. Like I said for the price point you probably won't find a quality knife for this price, overall I would recommend beginners to get this knife along with a detail knife to start carving.

This set is exceptionally nice the handles fit your hand very well the blades are sharp and the Storage case is made of a very durable cloth and rolls up nicely for storage well thought out.
