I love this Yeti mug. I was a bit hesitant to buy any Yeti product as they all seem a bit expensive compared to other insulated cups, but I've tried several others that ultimately disappointed and decided to give the Yeti a try. I am so glad I did. As the description says, this is not a leak proof lid. It will leak a few drops around the opening if you turn it over. And with the handle, it's not going to fit into a cup holder. But for what I use it for, those things don't matter. I mostly use it around the house.
I love that this is dishwasher safe. I was surprised to find an insulated container that was dishwasher safe, but this truly is. I thought the nice coating on the outside would be damaged in the dishwasher, but I've washed it several times and it still looks brand new.
I love that the pieces of the lid all come apart for cleaning. The magnetic slider on the lid comes off completely and the plastic ring around the lid comes off so it can be thoroughly cleaned. I throw all the pieces into the dishwasher. It's easy to take apart and put back together. I've had other insulated containers that collect dirt and mold around that plastic ring that i can never get off. Even if I manage to get the plastic ring off to clean, it never truly comes clean. I've not had that problem at all with the Yeti. I've had it for a few months now and the plastic ring is still clean.
I'm so pleased with this Yeti mug, I'm going to invest in another one - the 20oz rambler.
