The media could not be loaded. I like this pan,but the bottom wobbles on a gas range since it doesn't have a flat bottom which is a major design flaw & the reason I had to take off 1star. I had to use a ring underneath for the pan to sit steadily as you can see in my video & pic.
Even though this Aebleskiver pan comes pre-seasoned you still need to re-season it to attain non stick goodness. Here is how I did it!
1st of all wash the pan with warm water and a drop of mild soap(it is this one & only time I use soap on my cast iron). Rinse it well & dry really good using a soft & lint free cloth. I seasoned my pan on gas range, not oven. Once the pan dries off apply a light coating of oil and put it on a medium sized burner on a setting between 1&2. Once it gets hot & starts smoking a bit turn off the stove. Let it cool completely(IMPORTANT) and wipe off any excess oil. Repeat the process again for 3 more times. I did it for a total of 4 times. You could do it 3 times as well but I just wanted to make sure it was seasoned well before use..just in case. The 1st time I used it,it stuck a bit. But the next one was flawless, the aebleskivers just popped right out of the pan with very little effort.
JUST REMEMBER low & slow is the key to success with cast iron pans. So start with low heat to preheat the pan and don't go over medium heat while cooking for quick & easy release. High heat destroys the pan and anything you make in it gets stuck. Once done with cooking, cool the pan & wipe off any excess oil OR you could rinse the pan with warm water and dry it off well completely before storing to prevent any future rusting !
Great except the recipe

I really wanted to try these, but was worried about the negative reviews. I was able to make beautiful aebleskivers by my third round (my batch of batter made several rounds, 6 or 8, i ost track). Hints:
1. Don't use butter to grease the pan, use butter flavored non stick spray before every round. The butter won't protect the sides of the cups, so the batter will stick and make it impossible to flip.
2. Don't fill the cups... half to 75% full, as the batter puffs up. If you put too much batter and it overflows, you won't be able to flip them cleanly.
3. Don't overheat the pan. I have an electric stove. My burners go from 1 to 10. These turned out best at 1.5 on that scale. I also let the pan cool a bit between batches.
4. Don't try adding stuff until you really have the hang of plain ones. We love them with a drizzle of honey and sprinkle of cinnamon sugar, anyway.
5. Much like regular pancakes, they are ready to flip when you see a couple bubbles or a bit of steam. I only needed to push down on one side with one stick. Sometimes I needed to help with the other stick, but not much.

My only complaint is the batter recipes that come with it... there are 2 pages in the book that are titled "Basic Ingredients" but they don't match and both are wrong! The first one calls for 1 cup of flour and buttermilk, the other calls for 2 cups. I followed the one that asked for 2 cups of each. That one is close, but it is missing the amount of vanilla. I added half a tablespoon and they were delicious. The other recipe is missing the amount of baking soda.
Overall, love the pan and may buy another so I can cook more at a time.
Solid if a bit smaller than expected, be prepared to season this more than once

So this is a pretty solid little aebleskiver pan. I wish it were a bit bigger, like my grandmother's was, but it's decent even with the bit smaller size of the hollows. The aebleskiver end up a touch larger than donut holes.

I did have to use extra butter the first several batches even tho I pre-seasoned it well myself, because the pan is a bit rough/coarse textured and needed more seasoning. With extra butter they still worked fine, didn't stick too badly in a messy way, but I did need a spoon to help flip, they didn't come out quite as easily. Now, however, they turn easily with the included aebleskiver skewer.

Advice: Season, season, season this pan. If you don't, there will be regrets.

I do recommend it, with the above caveats.
Excellent pan! Perfect for South-Indian paniyaram

I love it !
I did 3 rounds of seasoning. Regular vegetable oil, 475 F oven for 1 hour, repeat.
The very first batch were dreadful, and got stuck. But it was easy to scrape it all off with the skewers.

After that, it's been wonderful to use. Had to experiment to get the perfect stovetop setting, so it doesn't overheat.

Now it's almost non-stick. Made my mom jealous :P
