Ignore instructions that come with it saying to hold the button down for 8 seconds to BT pair; at least, with iOS. Here on Amazon produce description says 8-10 seconds and those extra 2 seconds added on saved it from being returned.
Because of product symmetry in design, you will scan the inside of your palm half the time or shoot the laser other than where desired, and that's dangerous, but do not recall any warnings provided and took off one star for safety issue. If you attach the cheesy thin wrist strap string, it will help fix the orientation issue caused by the poor design symmetry.
Once patiently adjusted for BT pairing and safety, it scans like a pro to iPhone. Did readily show up to pair on Android with little issue, also, but needed it for latest iOS, which it likes well enough now.

Updated Review: Stopped working in less than two months

Updated Review: Skip to bottom. Worked great out of the box scanned bar codes and programmed accordingly. Suddenly in less than two months it stopped pairing to my iPhone properly and started disconnecting making it inuseable. It hasn't been dropped or damaged or anything. The red light doesn't even come out after charging and trying to scan the reset defaults. Hoping for a replacement or recommending everyone steer clear and invest in a better one. Will update survey if they fix it. Currently disappointed. 😔
Since getting in touch the company they went out of their way to rectify the situation. The new one they sent me free of charge appears to be an even greater model and works fair better. If you find you are having issues be sure to reach out.

This little rascal was a little touchy and didn't want to scan any of the barcodes that came with the manual. The trick to get it working with your phone is to turn on the Bluetooth while holding the blue button on the scanner for 10 seconds. Not nine. Eight is right out. Once paired, it works flawlessly with Profit Bandit.
