Every year around this time we start getting ready for Christmas/Thanksgiving by making oreo chocolate balls, plus I got a chocolate melter this year and have been playing around with chocolatering. This 5 lb bag is perfect for us, the taste is great for our oreo ball shells and it melts easily enough to use the molds I have for it. If you need to do a lot of chocolate work, this bag is the right one for you.

This Cambie Dark Coating Chocolate is wonderful! It is delicious and a bit addictive in a good way. It's not bitter dark chocolate, but rather yummy for dipping anything that you would like to coat in the melted disks, like marshmallows, pretzels, cookies, cones for ice cream...whatever!
It's easy to melt in a dish in the microwave and the dipping choices are endless. If you can wait a few minutes for it to set and harden, it will, but I ate most of it right after dipping my food items in the melted chocolate. I would place the dipped food on parchment paper or foil to make it easier to remove and eat them. You can also melt this into molds or just eat it straight. This is an excellent product!! Very highly recommend!!

After opening the bag, the chocolate turned a bit ashy. I am not an experienced chocolatier so I am unsure whether that's a natural occurrence or not. It tastes great, however, and is not bitter like most dark chocolate I have had. It's sweeter than milk chocolate but has a deeper, richer flavor. At this point, I have only used it as part of an elevated trail mix. I'm sure it'll melt splendidly once I melt it for my next project. I'll edit/update my review at that time.

I plan to use these for some candy making this holiday season. It's five pounds as advertised, looks like any other melting chocolate I've used before and has an expiration date of 09/2023 printed on the back. I'd say it's worth it if you know you'll use all of it.
