Works just as well as products that cost more

Tired of having to adjust timers based on sun up/sun down, daylight savings time, or sensors that just don't seem to work all that well? It is time to give up the old way of connecting outdoor lights and using something better, and this is that something.
Sure there are other brands out there that cost considerably more, but they don't do anything more than this does. And while you can find "timers" that cost less, they do far less and are far less reliable.
The pairing process is braindead simple and doesn't require a separate hub. From there it is one simple step to add it to Alexa or Google Home. You can then do things like set them to go on at "sunset" and just forget about it, no need to adjust for DST or changing daylight hours. Of course, if you do want to override it for some reason, you can simply tell Alexa (or Google) to just turn it on. Or if you don't happen to have your phone on you, or aren't near your assistant, there is a button to tap to turn it on.
The casing is solid and well made, durable and feels substantial, and has survived through summer and winter weather and continued to work without issue. Stop messing with inferior product, and certainly don't overpay when you don't need to do so, this Kasa version is everything you need. I have both the single outlet and double outlet (which gives each outlet a separate id so they can be turned on or off individually if you so choose), and both are superior products and well worth the price asked for them.

Game changer for holiday lights

No more going outside to plug in and unplug Christmas lights. Works great (like the rest of my Kasa outlets, plugs and switches). You can create a schedule to turn on and off and it works with Alexa devices for verbal control too. Set up was easy. We have it plugged in an outlet on a covered porch out of the weather but the way it is designed I would feel ok plugging it into an outlet that wasn't protected from the elements.
Renters can use this indoors

Most indoor smart dimmers are built into switches or bulbs, rather than plugs. This may be more convenient, but the bulbs didn't have the right connection and I rent, so a switch wouldn't work. I use this indoors so that I can use my own lamp as a sunrise alarm. I can control the alarm time separately for each day of the week, set my preferred brightening period, and also have it slowly dim at night. I prefer using my own lamp (which is pretty but happens to have a nonstandard connector), as many sunrise alarm clocks just don't get very bright.
Easy setup - handy to have for outdoor lighting

After long experience with Kasa plugs and switches, I finally decided to give these outdoor plugs a try. I was happy to see the setup process is just as easy as their indoor plugs - including a prompt to update the firmware.
Time will tell how they work "on the outside" - so far I have had no problems. Would buy again!

Makes life simpler

I have wanted to put a timer on my outdoor lights for a while now and after reading every glowing review on this kasa outdoor plug, I decided this is the way to go. Trying to connect frustrated me simply because I am always fearful of messing up the home WiFi system so I called Kasa for a walk through. Justin very simply, very calmly, very professionally assisted me and it took less than 5 minutes. So happy to have a phone button or Alexa assistance to turn off and on my outdoor lights without going out in the cold.
