Seems unwieldy but works. Can attach without cutting rope.

Working on steep embankment. Holds rope without slipping (check rope diameter for fitment with Belay) and can move up or down without binding. Only thing is be sure when closed & on rope, the carbiner holes are aligned and the carbiner fits properly. I made a Prusick hitch to work above this one so could pull myself back up the embankment. Otherwise, without a sky hook or grunt to pull you up; you'll need two of these.

The media could not be loaded. I followed the instructions in the picture and tried 3 different types of rope, 12mm, 10mm, and 8mm. All worked.
I used it today on a steep roof and trusted my life with it after many tests. Works, just needs weight to initiate the stop, otherwise it's designed to loosely slide up and down. At first I thought it was defective, but it was perfect. Glad I kept it.
