The set-up was overall simple. Took me a bit to adjust and find an appropriate position for the rear cam view. But other than that, there was no issue having everything in place. The playback quality is pretty good and appears to be clear enough. As well as the amount of view the camera itself is able to capture. I love it so far, as it gives me reassured confidence to capture the moment should I get involved in an incident. The thing I look forward to the most should it come to that is seeing a potential mortified reaction when someone realizes I captured everything on camera.
Just shy of perfect, worth purchasing however

I've been scouting around for an adequate camera system for my semi for over a year. I finally came across this one and chose to ignore some of the sub par remarks about it and took a leap of faith. The only thing I wish this system could do that I'm not aware of it does, is being able to wirelessly monitor it through say a phone app. That would be awesome. Nonetheless, it is a great system so far as I've had it now for a few weeks trying it out.

I'm using and had to install my system a bit differently than some of you will. Particularly the owner operators. You'll have more freedom on how you choose to install your system than I do, being a company driver. We're not allowed to drill into the truck and anything we have the shop install stays with the truck when we turn it in after a 400-500k miles or so. So my review is geared more towards company drivers, those Particularly driving 2019+ Cascadias.

At this point you're probably wondering why in the world a company driver would want to install such a system when most companies put remote access cameras in their trucks already? It's 2 fold. I got hit twice within 8 days and fortunately for me both times I was found not at fault. But that's not a chance you want to take out here no matter what kind of driver you are. I got hit the first time by another trucker who backed into my truck while I was legally parked in between the lines. The 2nd time, I got rear ended by a Charger who slammed into me at around 100mph 8 days later. NEITHER time did the company camera activate and all but my fail proof front facing dash cam has failed since I've been out here so I've lost all the dash cams I had that would've gotten other pov. Secondly, when you're not driving and relaxing in your sleeper berth, it is worth the peace of mind to be able to conveniently see everything around you from the comfort of your bed. All I need to do is glance at the screen and see everything around me.

Installation is easy if you have common sense with electronics. I'll give you a few pointers though. 1) Before you install your cameras keep this in mind. The arrow is the top of the camera. Place it on top, before you put it in its housing and after you've figured put exactly which way your mounting that housing. Just make sure you keep that arrow on top or it will not be correct on your monitor. 2) you will need a tiny long screw driver similar to those for eye glasses to screw the housings together with the cameras. I keep tools, but I didn't have any on hand, and it doesn't come with them. Was able to buy a set at the Loves I was at tho. 3) you will have a few options to choose from to display which cameras are on the monitor. From just 1 to all 4. You can and should do this from the buttons on the display itself. That's how you'll get all 4 to show if you choose. If you want your monitor to stay on, what I've found works, is using the remote. Select left. Left again to show all 4 cameras I've displayed on the monitor, then right. Then right again. Then the display stays on. Idk why, but it works. The remote will let you change from left, right and rear cameras. For some reason it doesn't show the front from the remote that I've noticed so far. Another reason why I keep all 4 on the display set up. You can only select the front camera from the side buttons on the display itself from what I can tell. 4) for the company drivers, buy 60lb double sided gorilla tape to mount your cameras to avoid the whole drilling process. Must mount the tape vertically. My side cameras have already survived rain and a truck wash just being mounted underneath the mirrors with double sided tape and driven about 10k miles or so already. Prep your surface before hand by cleaning any dirt or anything that will keep the tape from doing its job. 5) company and o/o drivers, for your front facing and side cameras (company drivers will probably need to use the rear as another front facing camera like I did) if you're in a Cascadia it's not too difficult to tuck the wires inside the dash. There's a TON of wire too. Around 100ft altogether if you have to use the rear camera as another front camera like I did. Plan it out, pull the fuse cover dash piece off, there are holes under the dash you can feed wires through, and the wires can just be fed through the gap in the doors to your mirrors and the weather stripping doesn't pinch them while still being able to close your doors properly. I managed to tuck almost every wire behind the dash and feed the connections I needed out the hole for the wires connecting to my ELD. Ran them out to the monitor and I didn't use the mount they provided because I can't drill. I bought a cup holder tablet mount and used it for my monitor and just fed the length I needed to the monitor. You will have some wires blocking some of your switches this way but truthfully it's not that much of a hindrance, and most of them I don't use anyways. Like the 5th wheel release. I always manually pull my 5th wheel release. But you could still use these switches as well if you really choose to. 6) make sure you go through and change all the setting inside the monitor that suits you like the time loop, date, etc. 7) buy 2 x 256 GB cards and make sure it's what the company calls for. It has 2 slots so use both slots. That's where you get the up to 20hrs of recording. There are certain situations where having that much recording time would be beneficial.

I've said enough. I hope my review helps both o/o and company drivers. For those with passengers, it provides them a sense of security as well. My fiancee has been riding with me and it brings her peace of mind to just be able to look at the monitor and see what's going on. I can monitor her safety when she gets out of the truck. If I get hit again, I can easily prove what happened. It's only $300+/-. I spent around $400+ with the memory cards and gorilla tape and tablet mount. Still a very small price to pay for security and proving your innocence in an accident.
