We live in a split level home, and part of the upstairs has high vaulted ceilings. That makes it harder to heat or cool some parts of our upstairs. In the winter we run space heaters when we use certain rooms, but I hadn't really seen a good solution to the cooling problem - we had a portable AC unit at one time, but no way to vent out out a window.
So I'm really glad I found this air cooler. It works with ice and cold water to cool the air. So you don't need to worry about venting it or condensation or anything. Just use the included ice bottles and fill the tank with water. The best part is that you can set it on a 4 hour timer and forget it! I have mostly used it in our upstairs TV room, but it's light (even with a full tank) and on wheels so moving it around is no problem.

How it works:
If you ever stepped out of a shower in an arid (low humidity) environment and stood in front of a fan, this is what it's like. It's not AC "“ its an evaporative cooler; a humidifier with a fan that uses the property of water to pull heat from your body to make you feel cool. That said, it won't cool your bedroom down more than a few degrees unlike a regular AC which uses the outside unit to dump heat. You'll need to have the fan pointed at you to get all the cool. Luckily, you don't have to turn it up fan to full blast to feel cooler.
This is nice to have in the desert, because you won't wake up with chapped lips, dried out nostrils, and horrible morning breath. The only downsides to one of these are if you have a stinky gym bag in the room, it will make it smell worse, and you needed the fan pointed at you for the cooling to work.
This type of machine doesn't work in humid environments; get a window AC unit or even a dehumidifier.
Protip: You should cycle your AC unit for a few minutes every hour or so to pull the moisture out of the room.

I live in the high desert and this works great as long as it's not humid. Keep in mind this is not designed to cool down a whole room like and AC would, but it does make working or sleeping much more comfortable.
Pros
- it's portable, easy to lift with the side handles. I move it regularly from office to bedroom.
- easy to fill- just pour water in the top compartment and it trickles down to the reservoir. Add ice or ice packs for extra cool. It also has a big reservoir, I top it off once a day, but it's rarely below half full after continual use.
- relatively quiet and blows strong, I rarely use it on anything but the low fan setting
- Keeps me comfortable, even up to around 89 degrees room temp (as long as it blows right on you). Even with just water it works well, though ice makes it feel a lot cooler.
- Nice rotating effect, and blades are adjustable up and down.
Cons
- It has to blow right on you for best effect, I have to set it on a chair at night so it reaches my bed at the right angle.
- as some have pointed out, the indicator buttons on top are fading/wearing off, hopefully won't be an issue down the road.
-It's really hard to see the revoir and how much water is left. I have to look closely at the back of the unit to tell. It has a big warning on it that you shouldn't cool without water.
- Ice packs that come with it are super flimsy, one has cracked already. Luckily, regular ice and ice packs will work.

Its a good cooler in my opinion I mean it won't cool off the whole house just the area in which your in and that's basically all I need it for.It comes with four freezer blocks which are used like ice cubes in which you freeze two of them at a time which are used with the cooler to cool you off. And these are blue in color.It has a remote controller with 3speeds for low-medium &high a Cool button for either on or off a Timer button which I've not used yet and a swing button to make the air panels to move left & right depending on how you want your air to travel. Just remember to keep an eye on the water level cause you don't need to not have any water in it and you put the water thru the top of the cooler and in the bottom back of unit there's a minimum and a maximum water line gauge in the big water tray where the pump is located.easy peasie

I bought this for my kitchen which gets extremely hot, especially while I cook. We do have central air conditioning but the ceilings are quite high so the kitchen still gets so hot. I filled it with super cold water and you can feel the colder air coming out of it almost instantly. It does a great job at cooling the kitchen, and I like that I can add ice to make it even cooler. It's not going to cool on the same level as central air conditioning! But it does cool the kitchen down quite a bit and helps me from overheating since I get so hot. Again, do not expect this to be a replacement for an air conditioner; however, it does a better job at keeping the kitchen cool, much more than a fan does. It is very easy to set up and very easy to use. This cooler is indeed worth the money I paid for it and the quality of this cooler is amazing.
