It's a nice looking mantle. I used it as a shelf on a bare wall. Elevates my space. The only issue is, its not all wood just the front and sides so the top has a composite soft wood fuzz type surface that will be hard to wipe down. Paper towels get caught in it. Maybe a duster would be best.

I don't care that it's unfinished, because I expect it to get paint on it, so I didn't want to pay extra for a treatment I didn't need. Recommended if it you're ok with it being unfinished.
