got to say for the price I was expecting this thing to just be an external converter, but the actual surround sound, performs very well the buttons on the side allow for individual control of the surround sound, plug and Play didn't have to really download any software or update any drivers however I did have to switch the primary drivers from the sound card on the on the motherboard. pro tip if you want better surround sound drivers you can use Dolby Atmos for a small fee also I think real tech has some 7.1 surround sound options, for free

OSX could not properly power the mic input for the Hyper X Cloud Stinger. This has completely fixed that issue! The headphone audio sounds great. The mic audio has some slight room noise on the highest volume setting, but otherwise it's great. The mute and volume controls on the device itself are very handy. Highly recommend this for anyone having issues with headsets on OSX.

I did end up sending mine back, but it would've definitely been a more than adequate replacement for a sound blaster inline DAC that went out. I did end up springing for a sound blasterx g6, and to be honest, it is more than what I need. I'd be willing to say this $19 dongle is almost comparable to the $140 DAC, especially for my uses. Save the money, and buy this dongle; you will not be disappointed.

I think the actual sound quality is fine, nothing amazing but works well. I will admit, with the headphones I use I have to keep the volume at about 4 most the time. It's made for a bit more hefty headphones that take more power than something you can just plug into your phone and still hear fine.
An effective solution for monitoring when no audio is on PC or it has conflicts.

I needed an economic workaround for auditioning sound samples on my R340 Poweredge server that had no sound card. I also was having regular issues with Audio driver conflicts on my Ryzen 5 PC workstation. This worked literally out of the box. Initially I thought it was cheap and weak by the lightness of components and high initial background noise when I connected my headphones. But that feeling changed when the audible noise dropped off and my Windows 10 PC quickly installed "PnP Audio Device" and worked immediately without need to logout or reboot the system. I absolutely love it now and showed it off to my neighbors as a marvel of modern technology. Later I will see if it will work with my different Audio editing and VSTi host software.
