...that is, we've only had this unit in operation for a few days.
So far, this is off the charts better than the Honeywell 70 pint unit we've been using. Unit is easily maintaining 50% in our damp basement, and when running is drawing a bit less than 3 amps. Considering that it is only running about 50% of the time compared to the Honeywell (CR top rated) which drew about 6 amps and ran constantly it adds up to a considerable electricity savings.
Reading other reviews I've got reliability and customer support concerns, but if it just lasts a year we will save the cost of the unit and put some dollars in our pocket.

The media could not be loaded. This review of the Abestorm Guardian SN55 considers unboxing and first use.
The SN55 appears to be commerical grade. The external design is utilitarian, the case strong and free of projections which might cause problems later. Given its weight the machine is surprisingly transportable (somewhere between static and portable), the attached handles making it practical to move around. You could for example use this product for one-time or temporary jobs, as well as in a permanent installation.
Bench-test:
After power-up the display showed ambient humidity at 51%. Turning the setpoint down to 40%, the compressor and fan started up (the lowest possible setpoint is 36%)* It's relatively quiet -- the fan noise is comprable to a window air conditioner and the compressor nearly inaudible over the fan; if installed in a separate room with output-air ducted into the room (removable duct adaptor included) you would expect the airflow noise to decrease. After an hour the dehumidifier had reduced the relative humidity from 51% to 43%, in a volume-equivalent I am going to guess was was 5000 cf.
I shut the unit down then because the drain line was going solid near the condensate outlet and blocking the flow. The instructions caution you to avoid loops or valleys in the drain line, but nearly horizontal sections don't cut it either. Even after the entire line was wetted, condensate locked up in some sections 6" below the condensate outlet, with the end of the drain line 6" lower than that, and backed up flow to the outlet. After I moved the target humidity to 47% the compressor shut off, the fan shutting off a minute later, and thereafter the unit cycled at reasonable intervals as local humidity returned to ambient.
If you are considering such an expensive purchase you will clearly be doing more extensive research than reading a few reviews, but it looks solidly built and seems to work as designed. I recommend checking the drainage carefully to avoid possibly flooding the unit (mentioned in the instructions) and voiding the warranty. I solved the fluid lock problem by shortening the run to achieve a larger average slope -- the key is to keep the droplets moving.
Speaking of the warranty, the only other critical comment I could make involved its terms, which mention "switches" and "valves" among excluded consumables. What's written in the warranty may not reflect your experience, but I would consider these as durable parts, not user serviceable at any rate. Ironically, you would likely void the warranty if you tried replacing them yourself.

This machine is head and shoulders above the small home units. I burned through half a dozen of those in recent years, but I really think I have found on that will be with me a while. I use this dehumidifier in our basement, which in the summer is quite humid here in Georgia. It is March now (fairly dry), and this unit pulls in at least one and a half gallons of water, but by June it should take in at least twice that amount. This unit has a 5 year warranty, so hopefully it will last at least a couple or three years. The most I ever got out of our smaller home units was about 6 -8 months; just unacceptable. Much more hopeful for this one!
