I have a roughly 900 SF finished basement the I have had a dehumidifier running in year round for many years. I usually get a couple of years of use out of the ones I get from the big box stores before they quit working. I decided to go to a commercial unit this time to see how it does. I paid about double for it compared to the others I had been buying over the years. I liked this one because it is energy star rated and fit perfectly where the other units had sat on a metal shelf near a washer drain for continuous running. This one didn't require venting either which was nice, though I do have that capability if needed. Although it It is rated for right at what my square footage is at the maximum, it is doing a great job so far this summer at keeping the area in the low 50% range without working itself to death, which is perfect. It is surprisingly heavy for the size of it, so hopefully that means it will last for many years. We'll see! I will add to my review if anything happens down the road.
