This product helps me and my husband get a peaceful sleep at night knowing that our baby is being monitored and we will be alerted if anything is wrong. I also love the fact that if your baby is with a sitter the app still allows you to track babies sleep while you're away.
For Our NICU Son
Ehren Knappe✓ Verified PurchaseFebruary 12, 2024
Our son came 5 weeks early and his lungs weren't fully developed. This resulted in rapid breaths, wild swings in his blood/oxygen levels and heart rate that necessitated a NICU stay. We got this before heading home and he's been wearing it for a month now, every time he sleeps. This has been an absolute Godsend for my wife. She was so worried about him, as was I, but she was practically glued to his side. However, after watching the companion app readouts with religious fervor, she's slowly seen his stats read steady and it has made her feel much better. It's helped her relax quite a bit. She also appreciates that she can check on him when he's at home and she's running errands.

It's accurate and gives great peace of mind. If your baby is having issues similar to ours, this is 100% worth it. There are some cons. I wish you could pair the sock directly to a smart phone so you could use the sock while you are out and about. Instead, it has to be paired to the base unit that is then hooked into your home internet. The sock has to stay in range of the base for it to read. From there, you use the companion app to connect to your network in order to check the stats. Secondly (and this is admittedly a small, almost insignificant issue), the battery in the sock doesn't last as long as it claims. After a full charge, the app will tell us the sock battery has about 16 hours of time left. However, it rarely lasts longer than 12-13 hours and the actual tike listed can vary greatly from how long it actually lasts. For us, our son sleeps a lot, so it stays on him for long stretches. It would be nice to have the battery time be a little more accurate.
By far my favorite baby product

I could not sleep a wink without the owlet being on my baby. My first daughter had me up every 5 minutes to make sure she was still breathing. She also had GERD and would throw up in her sleep often and I'd be afraid she'd choke. We bought her an owlet then and sold it later on. We bought the sock and camera duo for our newest little girl and the deal we got first of all was amazing. And second the peace of mind this offers couldn't compare to anything else.
The only flaw with this product is the app. The app is awful. I'm glad the base station will work with or without the WiFi and app connection, because it will randomly not work for me.
Buy this and sleep so much better knowing your baby is safe if you're a ball of anxiety like me

I truly was brought peace at night because of this. I had always heard that the sock would go falsely off , but not ever for me yet. My baby even got sick at 2 weeks old and this helped us keep track of her oxygen rate and saved us. I will say the camera may not be worth the dollar because it's so hard to set up because you have to set your WiFi to the 2.4 thing and it super complicated and disconnects offen. But the sock is so worth the penny .
Peace of mind!

So I wanted to state this first before anything, I did return it and purchased one from the Owlet website instead. I felt like the one I got off Amazon was kind of buggy? So what I am reviewing is the Owlet sock in general! I love it so much, it gives so much peace of mind. I can't even express how well I sleep at night knowing that's on my baby and if anything happened it would alert me! I will say this, and these are random little things I just thought would make it better, I think it would be sooo nice to have a feature where if the base station gets disconnected for any reason that you still get alerted on your phone. At least an alert of "hey, your base station is disconnected" so we can plug it back in and fix it. If the base station gets unplugged the sock simply doesn't work and you don't get alerts for it. That's honestly my biggest gripe. Everything else is amazing, especially since it's now FDA approved and will be updating in January of 2024. You would still get alerts if oxygen levels or heart rate dropped, but it was just a "check on baby" alert it didn't really say why, that's the only way they could have gotten around the FDA before it was approved. Which confused a lot of people into thinking you wouldn't even get an alert if anything happened and you could only see oxygen and heart rate levels in the app, but that wasn't completely the case. When you read online how it alerts you, you have to kind of read between the lines and really think about how they worded things to understand. But all of that is irrelevant now because the update makes it to where you know why you're being alerted and not just "hey help the baby". I started off using a hand me down Owlet sock from my cousin and decided to get my baby one of his own and keep the old one as a backup just incase! I also plan on getting the extension pack so that we can use the sock a bit longer as my baby grows. Overall I love the sock so much, this is my favorite baby item thus far. Sooo much peace of mind. If you're thinking about it just get it, but I would strongly recommend getting it from their website! It is so worth the investment. (Ps you can use this more than just at night, you can use it while you shower, in the car, anywhere! Of course still keep an eye on your baby but it's just nice to have this in more "stressful" situations. When I use it in the car I can't see anything on the app cause you need wifi, but the base station will still work and alert you if something was wrong.) I don't use the camera though so I can't say anything about that. I personally am not a big fan of wifi cameras unless you use it while consistently watching the camera and not at night.
