I had a previous pair of heated gloves that only warmed for about 90 minutes. These mittens, with their more powerful batteries warm for several hours. I wear them for about 2 1/2 hours with 50 percent of the battery power remaining.

If I got a commission (which I don't), I'd make money on while-on-the-lift conversations alone! These gloves are a game changer for me for many reasons:
1. I can control the amount of heat I have in the mittens at any given time"¦.I usually "˜preheat' them to 2/3 power before I put them on. When I put them on, I put it down to 1/3. That usually is good for most days. When the temps are in the single digits, I run them at 2/3. Even with not charging them, I was able to make it through two ski days, ending the second at 2/4 bars. I would still recommend charging every night for those extra cold days (which are often the ones with the sweetest snow"¦!). The high end version of these mittens cost $320"¦which means that even if I had to buy a new pair of these every year, it would be 2026 or later before the cost of these babies would equal the cost of one pair of the Hxxxxas!

These mittens are great for walks in dry cold weather. I do love them for that and they have saved my hands form Reynauds. BUT they are not waterproof! Not even water resistant! The smallest amount of snow on them soaks them because the heat melts it so fast. I notice now that the description says the BAG is waterproof. Not very helpful. I'll spray them with a waterproof coating and hopefully that will work.

I have Reynaud's syndrome and need to keep my fingers warm even in mild cold. These mittens are very well made and cleverly designed to do that. I love the drawstring cinch at the top! The finger area, including the thumb, heated up to a mellow warmth. I never felt the back of the hand heat. My problem with them is that I need them for very day winter dog walking. I hold a leash and a walking stick. The gloves are heavy (battery) for me, and a bit cumbersome for a good grip. I sadly decided to return them. Still looking for the right pair...

I've always been someone who gets cold easily, especially my hands and feet. It always affected how long I skied and how enjoyable it was. These gloves are so toasty and have 3 levels to set the temp. The battery packs come out to recharge and pop in before ski or snowmobile time. They are a little bulky but that's to be expected. Very toasty and can't recommend enough!!!
