I already own two of these radios, which I purchased new, and have enjoyed them for the past six or seven years. I use one in my garage and one in my master bedroom. After all these years, they still perform beautifully. I was so disappointed when Sangean discontinued this model, although apparently it is still available in Europe (?)
When I saw this exact same model (refurbished) selling on Amazon, I was concerned about whether or not I should purchase it (I have never purchased a refurbished item at anytime). Well, since I knew I had no chance whatsoever of purchasing another new one, and the fact that it was being sold by Sangean, and backed by both Sangean and Amazon, I thought I better take advantage of it. Besides, if I was not pleased with it, Amazon would refund my purchase.
i AM SO PLEASED TO SAY THAT I COULD NOT BE MORE SATISIFIED WITH MY PURCHASE! It arrived within one week of my ordering it. It was doubled -boxed with the radio being safely packaged in its' original box with all the original paperwork, including additional paperwork from both Sangean and Amazon verifying it was A refurbished model and backed with a full (original/new) warranty. The radio was in pristine condition in everyway and included the original AC power cord, etc. It looks and plays like brand new. I was so thrilled with this purchase that I did something a little unusual (for me).
I ORDERED ANOTHER IDENTICAL REFURBISHED RADIO FROM AMAZON! THIS IS HOW PLEASED I AM WITH THIS RADIO. I know it sounds stupid, but I now own four of these radios I am currently using three of them (the original two that I have had for years, as well as a third one in the kitchen). The fourth one will now be a back-up one.
I won't go into all the features of this radio since you can read all about them and the comments/reviews here on Amazon by simply looking up "Sangean WFR-28 Radio". I use the USB to listen to the hundreds of songs I have recorded and the Wi-Fi for my favorite stations. It also brings in all of my local FM radio stations as well. AND THE SOUND is excellent as well.
I just love this radio and I now feel comfortable that I will be able to listen to all my favorite recorded music on my USB fob as well as all my favorite Wi-Fi radio stations for years to come.
