Surprisingly good for the price

Set has held up very well over the course of a season, with stints of playing playing roller hockey outside on pavement. Large fit well for my 7 year old (taller for his age). This set would last for several seasons from what I can tell. Plenty of protection. No complaints of pain after numerous falls and crashes. You will still need a helmet, and jock/shorts and an optional neck guard.
One thing to note. If your child is heavier, or has bigger calves the velcro starts on the shin pads are not very long and you will have to leave them unscripted and tape them. Mine is very skinny yet the strap is quite tight. 4 stars because of the short, lower shin guards strap.
