I read a lot of the reviews and decided to try my luck. I have purchased other electric chipper/shredders and they have all been donated to goodwill. I had my teenage kids assemble the unit and when I first went to use it I couldn't get it to do much. I had to figure out to tighten the large hand wheel screw on the left and the thing has been a dream. Realistically handles nothing bigger than one inch diameter and does a great job with green or dried branches. The key to getting this machine to work like a champ is don't get ahead of yourself, let it pull the pieces in at its own pace. Don't get greedy and over stuff the intake. The switched work great and if you do over stuff a quick few rotations in reverse and then back to forward usually does the trick. Also, make sure you keep the pile of shreddings pushed away from the dump chute or else it doesn't allow fresh cuttings to fall freely into the bin. Having owed several other electric units I can honestly say that this one is a champ! It's also a lot quieter than the other electric units since it doesn't use high speed blades. Great machine at a great price. Wish I hadn't of wasted my money on those other units.

This is amazing I did all the brush and then I went around to the other side of the yard an trimmed the other hedges and had just as many piles. Not all shown in pics. This machine broke it all down and I just poured it out around the trees/bushes for winter mulch. It will break down for the winter and make nice soil for the trees over time. The best thing is to let the brush sit for a week and leaves die but I did not. You learn how the machine responds and what to do over time. Best thing is to put the brush in and wait for it to be chewed up and clear the blade before adding more. Patience. If it isn't cutting any more or you think it's jammed most likely you just need to dump the drawer. It's full. Ware work gloves and each time you dump the drawer reach up from under Neath and pull out the hanging dabre. Saftey be sure to un plug first. I love this machine and have already got my moneys worth out of it. Thank you for making something affordable and workable for this woman and easy enough to put together minus one or two items that my son helped me with. I tried to show in pictures those. I have had this machine for about a month I think now. My son told me to spray the blade after use to keep it. WD40 to keep sap off and from gumming up. I used a sharpie to mark the order of the hopper pieces to keep them in the correct order an direction trust me it helps. It can Cut about 3/4 inch to an inch size pieces round. Great little machine glad I broke down and got one. I don't normally have that much brush but kinda let them go during the shut downs. ðŸ‘

Getting this out of the box is challenging. The instructions are in the debris tub with the motor unit. The assembly instructions were not very clear. Once assembled it is a good sturdy machine. It is not light-65 pounds. In order to operate THE BIN MUST BE IN THE LOCKED POSITION! IF THE LOCK IS NOT FULLY ENGAGED THE UNIT WILL NOT TURN ON! As far as chipping we are very satisfied with this machine. We used to own the Greenworks chipper which did the job fine. I liked the design of this chipper and thought we'd give it a try. The noise level is low as far as chippers go. The feed is slower and less erratic. The greenworks one would spin the branches around wildly...best get out of the way if you don't want to get whipped:) This one is nice and slow so when the branches do turn it's much easier to control. We give this an A++ It's fashionably colored for me, works great turning yard waste into usable chips for the garden that are easy to transport, and my husband likes this one a lot more for functionality.

The product was as expected. Quite heavier than I thought. Instructions were buried inside the unassembled unit.

The media could not be loaded. So I really like this thing. It's great for light tree trimmings and palm frons and hedge trimmings. It will growl and eat all day long as long as you don't go oversize or let the bin back up. It's effortless. If you do get jammed up open the shoe and reverse the motor. This doesn't always work and you may need to jog it back and forth. It's a pain. For my uses of hedging I don't forsee having a lot of trouble. I did have to send the first one back because the gearbox jammed and even the blades were clear it would not start or reverse. I do think this could use with a lower gear reduction.
