Not only does it look wonderful and really adds the pop to my kitchen, I loved using this for a recent cookout party. Everyone complimented it and some people took pictures of it! I used it to steam veggie dogs and buns. I added the buns later because I read in some reviews they can get soggy. Everything came out perfect! If you have a family and hotdog night, a date night, or party, this thing is great! Some people also complained in reviews that it's made of plastic. Personally, I like that it is lightweight as the cord tucks underneath nearly and I wouldn't want some massive heavy thing sitting on my counter. Personally, I find it beautiful, wonderfully functional and great quality for it's purposes. Highly recommended.

Been looking for a reasonably priced hot dog steamer and this one completely fits the bill. You get that quality hot dog cart vendor taste from this steamer right in your own kitchen anytime you're in the mood for one!
This was simple to setup and get started. On my trial run I put the water in the base and turned the steamer on high for about 15 minutes before placing just 2 bun length all beef hotdogs in the tray. (There is plenty of room for many more dogs) It only took about 5 minutes for the dogs to cook then I put 2 buns in the top compartment for only about 30 seconds to 1 minute and they came out perfectly soft and steamy without being soggy or wet. With that being said, be mindful of a lot of condensation that collects on the underside of the lid when removing it because the water can drip on your buns if you're not careful. The only water that was present on the countertop when finished was condensation from opening and closing the hotdog compartment tray.
Likewise, it was a breeze to take apart and clean when finished. The owners manual recommends to only wash this by hand and not in the dishwasher. The base of the steamer where the hot plate is housed must be wiped clean and never submerged in water while cleaning.
The steamer and the handles are made entirely of plastic (even though the handles appear to be chrome, they are plastic) which feels a little cheap and flimsy however I'm sure that if it's not abused it should hold up. There is a slight plastic/new appliance smell to it right out of the box but after I washed it in warm soapy water and used it the first time the smell seemed to dissipate. It did not have any adverse effect on the taste of the food.
